Minatoya Shokudou — Restaurant in Minobu

I was here during a holiday and the only item they had on the menu is a kind of soup called "hoto". It's a vegetable and noodle soup that's a specialty of Yamanashi Prefecture. During the New Year's holidays this restaurant only has that one menu item available because they have a fairly large volume of customers, so I can't tell you anything about other things on the menu. I was quite happy to try the soup because I never had before and as a traveler passing through rural areas like this it's nice to sample the specialties. 身延山久遠寺までの参道にある和食のお店。これぞ昔ながらの食堂…！という感じのレトロな雰囲気のお店です。

普段は山菜蕎麦やうどんを提供されているのですが、身延山への参拝客が殺到するお正月シーズンは「ほうとう」¥1,000のみの提供です。

お肉など動物性ものはいっさい入っておらず、お味噌のおつゆにかぼちゃ・白菜・さといも・にんじん・大根など5〜6種類の野菜がたっぷり入ったヘルシーな味付けです。

年末年始は豪華な食事になりがちな中で、参拝のついでにこちらのほうとうをいただくとほっと胃が休まる気持ちになりました。
