We were visiting the Minoh Park and waterfall and were recommended to this restaurant by the folks in the tourist information center. It was not highly patronised and very unassuming and so we didn't expect much.
It turned out to be a great recommendation! The tonkatsu was really one of the best I've had - even better than Ma Maison in Tokyo. The quality of the pork was very good. The meat was tender and juicy and tasty. From what I read, the oil used is a special oil used by top tonkatsu restaurants. There were several grades of pork (at different price points) to choose from - you can choose a variety to try. If budget is not an issue, I recommend not ordering the set lunch, coz the pork from the set lunch is the poorest (i.e. thinest and driest, though still acceptably good)
