A very simple and practical pizzaria. I lived in Japan for 15 years, 12 of it in Misawa. There's plenty of good food around but there is exceptional food if you know where to look. I'll start by letting you know that it's been at least 5 years since I left Misawa so not sure if it's changed here but when I lived there Pizzaria Massimo was churning out great brick oven pizza. I make my pizzas today trying to use their methods since I purchased a pizza oven. A dedicated pizza and chicken chef, a competent staff, and a pretty good setup right outside the gate for American's and convenient for the local population as well. We LOVED our pizza with one exception... It flopped a bit on the bottom but was otherwise wonderful. I've since learned how to make this style of high heat pizza and understand the love of it. Misawa locals, Japanese and American, should fully understand what you have there compared to years ago when the closest pizza you can get was the Mokuteki or drive to Hachinohe for Pizza Hut (better and more interesting than stateside) nearly 30 years ago. You have an amazing place to get fresh pizza cooked in a brick oven so go try it out and maybe give it a...

After perusing the menu, you order at the counter, and it will be brought out to you when it's ready. I decided on an offering that had a variety of different salami and pepperoni on it. The crisp crust is the defining feature though, and if I return, I'd love the opportunity to try their margherita.
I wouldn't recommend large groups simply because there isn't a lot of seating here, but definitely stop by here if you're eating solo or...
