SAWA coffee — Restaurant in Mito

A cosy and interesting place to sit and enjoy a drink. It was bright and airy with many plants and other things decorating the windows. They had a large variety of coffee and other drinks, food and sweets. They roast their own coffee and there are many varieties available. It seems to be a family run business and it was full of people when we went there about 2pm. We ordered cappucinos and they were authentic with loads of foam, and interestingly garnished with cinnamon and citrus which was delicious. We had to wait for a while, so we decided to take a break there. The menu available was breakfast and others. We had a special morning set and different sandwiches. It took some time and the service man offered the morning set. We were not in a rush so decided to wait. The bread was good, with the salad combination and the dessert. ここの濃いアイスコーヒーを目当てに久しぶりに来店しました。グラスを口元に近づけるとコーヒーのよい香りがし、酸味がない深煎りのしっかりとした味わいです。

メニューに季節限定のココナッツアイスを発見！　ココナッツアイスなんて初めてだし、ココナッツ好きとしては見逃せません。運ばれてきたのは、ガラスの器にスクープされたココナッツアイスに、白いバニラウエハースが2枚、銀色に輝くアザランをあしらったホイップクリームと赤いチェリー、そしてコーンフレークが添えられていました。なんかレトロでいいです。

コーヒーもアイスも、「美味しい!」を連発しながらいただきました。

お店はご年配のご夫婦？が回されています。コーヒーを頼むと飴ちゃんがついてきます。建物は木を基調とし、窓から緑がのぞく、明るい空間です。店内には静かにジャズが流れています。カウンターとテーブル席があり、カウンターには大抵ご年配の常連客がくつろいでいます。私は常連ではありませんが、居心地よく、ほっとできる場所です。お二人ともお元気でどう...
