ザ・サーフ シーサイドシーン宮古島 THE SURF SEASIDE SCENE MIYAKOJIMA — Restaurant in Miyakojima

In short: Amazing. Probably the highlight of our week-long trip to Miyakojima/Irabu Island.

We went a total of 3 times: twice for lunch and once for dinner. Once with a bigger group of friends, family including a toddler, once with a smaller group and for dinner just as a couple.

The lunch was great, and everyone loved it. Their roast beef rice bowl was our personal favorite but their hambagu (not hamburger) lunch option was my wife's number 1.

Unfortunately we had a Typhoon going with lots of wind and rain so we did not get to experience the outside terrace they got going on.

For dinner we reserved a day in advance but unfortunately due to the typhoon the chef didn't have the ingredients he needed so he whipped up for us a new course with what he had on-hand or managed to procure that day and it was divine. Incredibly delicious and so many combinations of things I had never tried before!!! Do you know about carrot flowers? And did you know you can eat those and they go amazing with duck? A coconut blancmange with sweet corn creme for soup... Incredible!

Chef... Awesome job!

Everyone who visits Miyakojima should try and have dinner there, it surpassed all other dinners we had on the island including places that charged a lot more money!

To the staff: thanks for helping us, being so nice and having patience with our toddler during his noisy moments at lunch.

If we come back to Miyakojima/Irabu, this will be our go go spot. Loved it!!! Hope to experience the atmosphere without a typhoon raging around us :) worth every yen

P.S.; My wife is Japanese, I speak Japanese so I am not sure about the English support at this place but most menu items etc. are available in English, so it shouldn't...

We had a fantastic meal at this hidden gem of a restaurant. The service was excellent and waitress was very kind - she made sure to translate into English anything we did not understand. We forgot our bag and returned to our hotel nearby, and the restaurant team contacted nearby hotels to return our belongings to us! Also FYI - we wanted to come again for lunch the next day but the place is closed on Tuesdays...

Me and my husband stayed at the hotel next door, it was super convenient like 1 min driving distance.

I ordered seafood lunch set, it was healthy and tasty.

My husband had the beef set, it was great too!
