Ei Sushi — Restaurant in Miyakojima

英寿司 (Hide Sushi) is a beloved Edomae-style sushi restaurant located on Nishizato Street in central Miyakojima, popular with both tourists and loyal locals.

Note: Parking is available next to the restaurant in the space marked “Private Property – Shimoji”. Do not park in the apartment parking lot behind the building.

The chef, originally from Sarahama, Irabu Island, trained at top sushi restaurants in Shibuya and Yokohama. His precise Edomae sushi skills and warm personality have earned him many regular customers.

For lunch, I had the Jo Sushi Set (¥1,430), which included chutoro, akami, squid, white fish, shrimp, salmon, scallop, tamago, ikura, and tekka maki. Every piece was fresh and flavorful, but the local Miyakojima tuna stood out with its rich umami. The sushi rice was perfectly seasoned, creating great balance with the toppings.

The chef was friendly and welcoming, even offering complimentary ice cream for my child after the meal. We also ordered cola (¥250) and oolong tea (¥250).

예약없이 11시에 오픈한다길래 시간 맞춰 갔는데 문이 닫혀 있어서 다른데 돌다가 11시45분 쯤 다시 이 앞을 지나는데 문이 열려 있어서 다행히 먹을 수 있었습니다. 미리 전화해 보고 가시는걸 추천해요. 그리고 진짜 맛있습니다!!! 미야코지마 가시면 에이스시는 꼭 가셔야 해요. 부드러워서 살살 녹고 감칠맛이 너무 좋아요. 밥에 간이 딱 맞고 너무 맛있어요. 6살 저희 딸도 참치초밥 아주 맛있게 먹었어요. 아이 주려고 참치튀김도 시켰는데 돈까스처럼 먹을 수 있게 나오는데 이것도 진짜 별미에요.

할아버지 한 분이 운영하신다고 했는데 저희 딸을 너무 귀여워 해주셔서 감사했습니다^^ 언젠가 또 미야코지마에 가게 된다면 꼭...
