Shogun Burger Truck — Restaurant in Miyakojima

We got two cheeseburgers and two beers. Service was great and location is easy with lots of free parking. I would give 3.5 stars if I could as I feel that better represents my thoughts as there were two issues we had.

First is that it was much more pricey than I thought should be for a food truck, though I can kind of understand this as things in Miyako were more expensive in general due to being a remote island. The 2nd was that the burgers patties were raw/cold in the middle but we weren't given an option as to how we would wanted them cooked. I don't mind a pink burger in the middle if the meat is ground fresh, in fact, I prefer it, but these were literally raw in the middle and when we asked, we were told, "it's okay". I would have prefered to have an option as to how well-done my burger was vice getting it raw. Especially since I don't know if they grind their own meet daily or not.

For background, bacteria on steaks is on the outside and doesn't penetrate the meat much, that's why it's okay to eat a pink or rare steak that's a few days old because the external heat kills the bacteria on the outside and there isn't any/much inside. But when you grind meat for hamburgers, you take that bacteria on the outside and put it everywhere and when it sits, it festers, so you either want a fully cooked burger if the meat isn't ground fresh, or you only want freshly ground burgers, usually same day.

Great burger and nice service. We sat outside, being the only option. Overall burger is great but the price is definitely very high, the cost of 2 burgers from a more regularly priced burger spot.
