GYUZO — Restaurant in Miyazaki

Landed in Miyazaki and headed straight to this much-talked-about Yakiniku restaurant on my first day. It's a popular spot, known for being fully booked, so I went in hoping for the best as a solo diner. The staff were incredibly accommodating, offering me a spot as long as I could dine before the next reservation - 1.5 hours was more than enough for me.

I chose their set Miyazaki beef regular course, a fantastic decision. It was an opportunity to savor various cuts of the renowned Miyazaki beef, each more delicious than the last. The portion sizes were just right, leaving me satisfyingly full without the need to upgrade to the special course. If you are tourist here and you don't know Japanese, then you will have some problem. The restaurant doesn't have an English menu and the staff speaks very minimal English. The set we had was ¥5500 not Inc tax. It was really good grade A5 beef. Not expensive and you get really full. So I would recommend getting a set to make things easier if Japanese isnt your forte. Delicious meat, but very expensive and tiny portions. Literally smaller than a credit card. The staff also had a problem finding us a knife and fork. By the time they brought the cutlery we had both finished eating. The gas burner was left turned up so high, that it became uncomfortable. A thoroughly horrible experience.
