ONISEN — Restaurant in Miyazaki

This place probably deserves more than theee stars, but the level is so high here in Kyushu that I found it hard to give 4 stars. I still recommend this place highly, the chicken namban set was very good along with the local dish. “Tori no Shioyaki”. It is grilled chicken that is quite chewy and the flavors are amazing. Use a little of the spicy “uzugosho” paste that comes with it for a great taste experience. Dont let optics fool you. Our dinner included a variety of seafood and ingredients but it was just average - not to say boring and tasteless.

Great ambience but the old lady waitress was severely annoying. She kept standing beside our table, clicking with her pen and waiting for our order. She even sat down to discuss the menu - total lack of manners.

I absolutely loved my experience at Onisen, The ambiance was cheerful, the food was delicious, and the service was fast. One thing made my experience was how friendly the locals were. It's a common occurrence in Japan to sit alone at the bar and end up making friends. Highly recommend! Better with a reservation the next day I tried but...
