So, I was pretty hungover and wasn’t sure if I could eat. But I knew I should try. Looked at the menu and the first item said something like “Eat this if you’re not feeling well”. So I ordered it and best decision ever! All of a sudden my hunger came back and I devoured the whole meal. It was kimchi udon with some local beef and just right amount of vegetables. Delicious. Some info below.

SECOND VISIT Google family, the couple that run this establishment are so kind and sweet. I’m came alone on a slow night, I think right before they were going to close shop, and the Chef graciously decided to keep their doors open for me. I was so thankful! (For my fellow Americans\foreigners, I know that might sound weird but it’s different here. If you visit closer to closing time then many restaurants can decide to close early so don’t wait.) The couple made me feel like I was eating with family that I haven’t seen in a long while and their vibe left me feeling joy. That alone makes me want to come back again. But let’s be real, it’s the amazing food that brought me back here haha
This time I ordered the Beef Yabenaki Combo, a beer (it’s the large bottle), and a sake (comes in a glass bottle about 4-6 shots. See the picture). So dang clean tasting and delicious. I’m not even a udon lover but this place changed my mind. Oh, and they send you off with...
Read moreIt is a shame that tabelog has no records of this restaurant. Definitely the best Udon I have ever had in Japan. The best part is that the boss is super nice to us. He is very patient and friendly. We have been to many places in Japan and visited different restaurants and shops. We were disappointed by how Japanese people in big cities like Kyoto and Tokyo mistreat visitors from overseas. He has changed our opinion towards Japan.
Speaking of food we had tonight, everything is well balanced. Udon noodle is elastic and the soup tastes just about perfect. You also must try the pudding and salad. They are with high quality and a bit surprise.
At the end of our dinner, the boss brought us a dish of mandarins as a gift. His hospitality really moved us.
I will recommend this restaurant to everyone I know who travels to Miyazu.
Food quality is important. However, the attitude of the chef is the special ingredient that makes...
Read moreI ordered the single stamina kimchi udon and the beef nabe yaki combo. Although the portions were quite large, the flavors weren't too overpowering, making it easy to finish the bowl comfortably. The nabe yaki combo comes with potato salad, pudding, pickles, and rice, which might be a bit too much for those with smaller appetites, so I recommend the single items instead. The beef was incredibly tender and delicious. After paying, the owner gave me an Umaibong (japanese) snack. The place is friendly, quiet, and cozy, and I highly recommend it. If a restaurant of this quality were located in Kyoto or Osaka, there would be a long wait, but since Miyazu is a quiet town, there's no need to worry about that. I'm starting to like this peaceful...
