Shiozaki — Restaurant in Nachikatsuura

Quaint little family restaurant run by an elder couple who have been in business for 40 years. No English menu, but they are helpful to explain what they can. A little knowledge of the names of the food helps.

We ordered steak, maguro (tuna) sashimi, agedashi tofu and salad, rice with seconds and hot green tea. The food was fantastic, especially the steak and maguro which melts in your mouth.

Price was 7800 yen in total which is perfectly reasonable. They were also willing to accommodate us when most of the other restaurants in the vicinity were closed or required...

I came across a small shop run by a friendly elderly couple during my visit as a tourist from Hong Kong. It was a pleasant surprise to find myself in such a charming establishment.
