Amazing service and at a very affordable price (around 2200 yen for two people). The food tasted amazing and everything was fresh. It’s like a school cafeteria style restaurant where you pick small items you want to eat and put it on the tray. Everything I got from the salmon which was delicious, soft and fresh to the chicken karrage which was crispy and had a lot of flavour was all good. Highly recommend this place if you’re looking for an affordable place to eat at while in Nagano.

Visited for lunch on a weekday 13:00, it was quite busy, it seems very popular local canteen in the area. The system is that you take your own tray, take the dishes and or small bowls you like and pay at the end. The rolled fried egg is cooked once you order. Ramen and other noodles can also be ordered at the cash register. The rolled fried egg was freshly cooked and deliciously hot lovely. It is a rather pity that the food is a bit cold. Parking lot is available. Cash only.

秋である。 というのはあくまでも暦上のことであり、空を見上げれば大積乱雲。おいおいおい8月の空だぜ。当然気温は下がる気配すらなく、2日ほど前には新潟 燕市で40℃を記録したとか。かと思えば台風10号は記録的な規模に成長しつつあるという。どうか九州に、日本外国問わずに被害を被らないよう心の底から祈念するものだ。  松代にいる。 規模はあまり大きくはないが、武家屋敷群、とくに旧松代城から文武学校に至るまでの範囲は整備が完了したためもあろうが、とても落ち着いた風景がよくて、歴史好きだけでなくとも楽しめる地域であると思う。その割にマイナーな存在というか、あまり知られていないのは宣伝不足ではないか。インターチェンジも近いし、小布施に対抗してガンガンやればよいのに。真田は葛飾北斎に充分対抗しうるとも思うが、あまり混雑されるのも嫌だな。と、勝手なことばかり言っている。  いちおう仕事で滞在しているのだが、大した時間はかからない。現地を視察した上で、行政各部署へ調査や確認を行うという、いつもの作業だが、さぁあの部署へ行こうかと顔をあげたらちょうど昼どきだ。では移動しながらランチとしよう。   「まつしろ食堂」 長野インターチェンジ目の前にあるセルフサービス式の食堂だ。ここと同じチェーン店は駅前にも青木島にもあったのだが、現在はここだけになってしまい少し残念な気がしている。こういう形式が好きなのだ。ただ、私のような欲張りは数多く取りすぎて高くついてしまうのと、極端な偏りのあるメニューとなってしまうから困ってしまう。  「茄子の揚びたし」161円 偏りのはこのことをいう。結局選択はナスから始まってしまう。煮てよし焼いてよし揚げてよし漬けてよし。世の中ナスほど美味いものはない。ナスの素揚げと醤油と酒とミリンの漬け汁のコンビネーションは凄まじく相性がよい。  「竹輪の磯辺揚げ」110円 衣に青のりを混ぜるというアイデアはいったい誰が思いついたものなのであろうか。たったこれだけのことで、豊穣かつ美味なる世界が現れ出でることか。これは素晴らしい。しかも100円  「鳥と茄子の甘辛炒め」260円 鳥はから揚げ、ナスは素揚げしたうえでとろみをつけた甘辛あんをからめたもの。何度でも言うが、ナスほど美味いものはない。この変幻自在さが素晴らしすぎる。  「しょうが入り玉子焼き」173円 こちら名物玉子焼き。3種が用意されていてプレーン、ネギ入りそして紅生姜入りとなっている。私はこの紅生姜が好きで好きでたまらない。ほわほわ玉子の中にサクサクぴりっとした紅生姜がそこここにあって美味い美味い。これでもう少し甘くしてくれればパーフェクトなのだが。   かくしてセルフ式ナス活プラスαの昼食が終わった。ああナスが美味かった。しかし、まだまだ喰らい足りない。さぁナスだ！ナスをよこせ！

Visited for lunch on a weekday 13:00, it was quite busy, it seems very popular local canteen in the area. The system is that you take your own tray, take the dishes and or small bowls you like and pay at the end. The rolled fried egg is cooked once you order. It’s like a school cafeteria style restaurant where you pick small items you want to eat and put it on the tray. Everything I got from the salmon which was delicious, soft and fresh to the chicken karrage which was crispy and had a lot of flavour was all good.
