Tetsudoya — Restaurant in Nagoya

If you like model trains this is the place for you. Several rental tracks stretching through the cafe. If you have no trains of your own then they can be rented from the owners collection. I spent a wonderful hour here and despite me not knowing Japanese and the owner not knowing English we both spoke "Model railway" and got on fine...also he has a tablet with Google translate which helped. Primarily open at weekends and If you want to guarantee a reserved track then you will need to find their 'X' account and follow the link (In Japanese but X does translate enough to complete). 5番線(最長路線)使用。

【特徴】 とにかく路線延長が長い。操作卓の前後に線路が張られているため、見ていて非常に楽しい。 料金は¥1200/hと少し高めだが、¥500のドリンクも内包されるためそこまでの割高感はない。 営業は基本的に土日祝のみ。詳しくはX参照。

【よい点】 1:圧倒的長さ 最短でも1周30M、最長1周65Mという長さで、長編成を走らせてもかなり映える走行ができる。窓側の橋を走行させて写真を撮るとなかなかによい。

2:山側の作り込み コントローラー裏手の山セクションは、地形もさることながらきちんと背景まであり、撮影してて模型感を消すこともできる優秀なスポットになっている。

【気になる点】 1:車両への要求性能が高い(特に5番線) 全体的に勾配のかなりきついレイアウトとなっており、1Mの長編成などを走らせると駅を出た直後の勾配でも立ち往生する可能性がある。また5番線の奥にあるループ線は特に厳しく、上り8両以上は2M必須と思ってよい。

2:導線設計 狭いスペースにできる限り広げているためにコントローラー周辺のスペースが異常に狭く、 5番線:奥の人が手前に来るたびに立つ必要がある 9,10番線:座るスペースがない
