Restaurant @komforta.nara in Nara, Japan 🇯🇵 is definitely off the beaten path, but it truly deserves its @michelinguide It is Italian cuisine with Japanese ingredients and refined French techniques 🙌

Insalata- local fish Ayu (sweet fish) OR shrimps / eggplant / cucumber / green curry / couscous
Zuppa - creamy fava beans, sabayon mousse, brûlée.
Antipasto misto - rice seafood salad / maguro (raw tuna tartare) / eggplant 🍆/ coleslaw / mashed potato salad with crudo / cauliflower puree with smoked squid / meat stew / edible flowers/ kiwi 🥝
Pasta course - red shrimp 🍤, homemade almonds granola, basil, tomato, edible flowers, spaghetti served modern style. The most delicious pasta I have had recently 🥳🥳🥳
Fish course - Japanese Sea Bass, zucchini foam, grilled vegetables from Akishino, Nara.
Meat course - Yamato pork with black garlic / broccoli puree / wine reduction sauce / red onion / baby corn 🌽
Palate Cleanser - wine and Japanese pepper granita / edible Nasturtium leaf 🍃
Bread service - homemade focaccia and orange peel Pain de Campagne. Served with infused olive oil 🙏
Summer platted dessert- pineapple gazpacho, coconut 🥥 panna cotta, vanilla gelato, yogurt tuile, edible flowers, pineapple-pepper jelly 😋😋😋
Coffee ☕️ with milk 🥛

We made reservations a couple days ahead of time just in case, and we ended up having the whole restaurant (and the staffs’ attention) to ourselves. The meal was simply sublime.
