Men should try visit on even calendar days, and women on odd calendar days! That way, you will be able to enjoy the west half of the bath house, which is far nicer than the east half.

A good variety in baths, spread over 3 floors. Both indoor and outdoor baths. They also include barrel baths, a jacuzzi, a stone bath, a jet bath, and also a sauna.

Two of the baths are saturated in minerals, and the water has become a deep reddish-brownish colour. You will not be able to see yourself when you look down. However, I noticed a faint presence of ammonia in there, and I'm not sure this is normal. I believe it shouldn't affect the efficacy. It's not noticable unless you really try smelling it.

The system is as follows: take off your shoes and put it in a locker. That locker requires a ¥100 coin which you will get back. At the counter, you pay and they will give you your locker key. The shoe locker you keep with you. Match your locker key with the one in the changing room, and do the whole hotsprings ritual from there on out. And by the by: they also have lockers for your umbrella at the entrance.

There is also a restaurant, and you could use your locker key to purchase something from it. But this time only the drinks bar was open, but I didn't need it. When checking out, give back your locker key, and they will check if you purchased anything, and then you fulfill any oustanding payment.

You certainly leave to feel like a new person ^^

Only downside is that it's about a 15 minute walk from train station Shimosa-Manzaki. It's hard to fault them for this though, as geothermal sources just simply tend not to be in city centres. Maybe the train station...

3 floors of inside and outside baths. Different temperatures and also different minerals by the look. There’s places to rest and relax outside in the sun. Showers are located on each floor. The top floor has a cold plunge pool, sauna and hot bed area as well as an inside bath with spa area. Second floor has an inside and outside bath and many showers. Also a couple of outside chairs to relax. First floor has 2 showers and a plunge pool, spa and outdoor area for relaxing. Can be hard to access as the directions state if you take the train you can get off at the station before and take a taxi from the taxi rank, but the taxis are not there waiting and none passed. I ended up getting back on the train and getting off at the nearest station, it’s then a good 20 min walk to the baths on a flat road. But the road is narrow and no actual footpath. The staff were friendly and welcoming, and ordered the taxi for me to take back to the main train, only 10 min away. I had wanted to eat at the restaurant but it was closed on the day that I went. I would go again, but try to pre order a taxi before I left...

It cured my skin disorder. I had a condition where my hands split open and bled. I had to grind my hands down below the split of the cut with pumice stone on a bi-weekly basis, to prevent deeper cutting. To survive, I have had keep my hands in soaked in petroleum jelly, and wrapped up in nitrile exam gloves as well. One trip here, and a condition which haunted me for years, from field labor, and pulling out the horrible Datura Inoxia, also known as Jimson Weed, and my the persistent reappearing cuts on my hands have closed. I can enjoy citrus again. I can use isopropyl based sanitizers without pain. I feel healed, and I am healed. I didn’t anticipate this effect either. I just came here because I am a foreigner with tattoos, as is my wife. Everything was great, but this is miraculous. My hands are healed, and I never thought I would be so lucky. This place is precious, and I will tell everyone in my home, where that nasty plant is, that they need a trip here if they want to be healed. I look at my hands with...

Such a lovely scenic area to have an onsen, especially once the weather starts to cool down a bit. I loved the different pools which you could use, and when I went (just before 5pm), it was practically empty! I was quite confused at first, but the locker key is within the wristband that they give you with the number on it. The showers are also outside and are on every floor, so you dont have to worry (I spent quite a lot of time looking for one around the changing room!) I recommend that you bring your own small towel (or buy one there as a souvenir), and DEFINITELY bring body lotion/moisturiser as it can get quite drying from the hot water! People also usually bring water bottles in as to remain hydrated, and even books for entertainment if you’re a solo traveller! Dont make the same mistakes I did 😖 There are also lovely areas to relax after your onsen outside the locker rooms which was quite serene.

I wanted to try Onsen and this one is placed conveniently on the way from airport to Tokyo center. It took me like 20 minutes train ride from the airport and than it is nice little walk (1,5km) from Shimosa-Manzaki station. Important is to put yor boots into a locker (100yen). The staff at front spoke basic English and they gave out manual what to do and basic rules. You have to have your own towel (small one) or otherwise you need to buy one. General rules are wash yourself before going into onsen, do not wear any swimsuit and be quite. One thing I do not understand is the TV in the sauna. Whole place is a place of calm and there is screaming TV in the middle of sauna. Price is 800yen over weekdays and the place is tattoo friendly!
