It's on the more expensive side, and the location is a bit more out of the way (unless you are staying in one of the nearby hotels), but the food and service were both great - truly a wagyu purist experience. When we were here it was essentially a fixed menu consisting of a salad (not really what you think of as a salad, but very good still), a soup (more of a bone broth, but suprisingly delicious), a wagyu of various grades, and then fried rice prepared with your steak's leftover grease.
We ended up getting a private room to dine in, and looking back I think they are reserved for people who get the more expensive cuts of wagyu (but I can't be sure).
There's another popular steakhouse in the area, Myogetsubo, and I would rank this place just barely below them, but not by much. If you love steak, I would make an effort...

This was my first time trying the Wagyu steak, and believe me, it was perfect; it melted in my mouth. I tried the wagyu steak again later at Kobe, Japan, and I have to say, Nikko Guruman’s was better and cheaper.
If I ever get back to Japan, I will make a trip to Nikko just to eat at this restaurant again. The service and atmosphere were top-notch, as was the food. I highly recommend that anyone in the area stop...

It was a little bit expensive, but we had no idea it was actually a "full course," and everything was just making sense, and every course you eat is worth the money u paid for. Like superb 👌 🤌
Also, it's a weird thing to say, but my partner and I don't eat tomatoes, so instead, they gave us a matcha ice cream at the end of the course for replacement 😮🥰 I highly recommend this one!!
Oh, and you need to make a reservation...
