Saito Bakery — Restaurant in Niseko

A small bakery located on an unassuming hill in Niseko. Bread is nothing short of amazing and delicious. Bread is baked fresh each morning and there is a fairly large variety of both sweet and savory breads to choose from. The owner is very friendly and was able to help out even though we didn't speak much Japanese. I had opted for the salt bun and the olive focaccia. The salt bun was probably one of the best I've ever had and I always go out of my way to try salt buns from various bakeries. The outside was slightly chewy and the soft buttery interior wasn't overpowered by the butter used to make the bread. The sea salt on top of the bun complemented the entire bun and made for a great breakfast. The olive focaccia was also soft and had the fragrance of rosemary. 気になっていたパン屋さんですが、ニセコに行っても、つい違うパン屋さんに行っていました。

店主の塩対応口コミを全力で擁護してるオーナーさんの文章を読み、そもそも口コミって自分の感想を書いて良いものだと思うし過剰反応過ぎるー、けど、そこまで愛されてる店主さんも見てみたいと思って友人と5人で札幌から行きました!

なんか、本当に不器用で口ベタそうだけど根が優しいんだろうなーという方で、私は一目でファンになりました!

きっと知らない人に簡単に笑いもしないけど、お客さんが迷って待たせても嫌な顔も絶対にしなさそうな方でした。

実際に揚げコッペパンをすぐ食べる分を3つ買ったのですが、思いのほかきな粉がこぼれそうだったので、「やっぱりビニール下さーい」と言ったら、両手でビニールを広げて持っててくれるんです。 普通ならビニール3枚取って「はい、どうぞー」とくれると思いますが、１つ１つコッペパンを入れるのを持って待っててくれるんです。 で、友達と順番に並んでビニールにコッペパン入れました!笑

あーーー無表情ながらなんて癒し系なんでしょう。 コミュニケーションが苦手なのかもしれないけど、とっても温かい人だよねと、友達と優しい気持ちになりました。

そして揚げコッペパンの美味しいこと! ホントに揚げてるのか?と思うほど軽かったです。 揚げ物はあまり得意じゃないので持ち帰りように子どもの分1つしか買わなかったことを深く後悔しました。 冷めても美味しい!←子どものも横から食べた。
