The four of us visited Noboribetsu station and Noboribetsu Marine Park NIXE. We spent some time at the Marine Park and decided to take a short 10-15 minute walk to this restaurant for lunch. In actuality, the food options in this part of town is basically nonexistent, aside from those options inside the Marine Park. We took a walk to arrive at this small and quaint neighborhood eatery. The reviews mostly said it was satisfactory so we had no suspicions when we arrived and ordered. The atmosphere is cute and feels like your typical small Japanese town restaurant. The menus of course had no English. We ordered three different kinds of sashimi bowls and one karaage set. Food arrived in tiny portions except for the karaage, which was huge. Simply put, sashimi was flimsy and mushy, did not taste or look fresh. The bowls were the size of a small rice bowl. Really did not reflect the price. However we chalked it up to tourist prices, since this was the only restaurant around. While we sat, 5 more groups of tourists came in and the place got packed. The worst was when I tried to take a bite of rice and the most disgusting strand of long black hair came dangling with the rice. Asked the lady politely to please change the rice, she took it away with not even a sorry. The food all tasted gross after that. If you have no time and are starving, this place is ok for you. If you have time and want bang for your buck, we would recommend that you find...
Read moreoverpriced - uni is slimy and small and it seems the store rips off tourists. do not recommend, save time and money to eat in sapporo directly. They make you order the set menu for 40 dollars and the uni is not fresh at all. The uni only bowl was around 33 dollars but they make you pay for the set menu. When the set menu comes it comes with the miso shrimp soup, not the crab soup shown in the picture. You have to pay another extra for that soup LOL. Terrible service and they try to argue w you if you say the menu picture is different from the actual thing. They wave a 100g package of uni and claim that was all in the bowl (it was not). Total false advertising. The picture shows a bowl full of uni. When we ordered you can see a very thin sheet of uni.
Edit: Even if the uni was frozen we have eaten at other places with uni, and the frozen uni was still way better than the one we ate here. Here the ratio of uni and rice was 1:9 and it deliberately looked like they were trying to rip off customers. It’s outrageous that they are charging this much for such a small and...
Read morePerfect First Stop in Town - Amazing Seafood! This was the first restaurant I visited upon arriving in this city, and what a great choice it was! The uni (sea urchin) was absolutely outstanding - fresh and delicious. The crab soup was rich, flavorful and wonderfully aromatic. All the food portions were generous and incredibly fresh. The elderly lady who served us was exceptionally attentive and thorough, providing excellent service throughout our meal. Her careful attention to detail really enhanced our dining experience. This place has definitely earned a spot on my must-visit list whenever I’m in town again. If you’re looking for premium quality ones with attentive service, don’t...
