If you are a bread gourmet who likes their bread crusty on the outside then visit this heaven for pan lovers.They still have the soft breads that so many Japanese eat (only because they rarely have the opportunity to buy it in supermarkets).This shop also has little pieces of the bread on offer for customers to sample before they buy.They have green curry bread,that can be eaten on its own .In fact all of the breads I sampled could be eaten on their own,much like Japanese eat their rice. The first time I visited this shop I only bought a crusty small white flour roll.I inquired about rye bread and was told only on the weekend.As I was entering my car to leave the head baker(who I suspect has gone overseas to study bakery) rushed outside to give me a present of a loaf of wholemeal wheat bread.This was wholly unexpected and I will always be grateful.My Japanese mother in law ,who only eats that white shopan they sell at the supermarkets ate this for breakfast and liked it.She is a very selective eater who will not eat something if she doesn't like ,no matter who gave it her. After a couple of days I returned to buy some rye bread.It came out of the freezer as no one had bought it on the day it was made.I didn't mind because I often freeze my bread so I can continue eating it weeks after it has been baked. Lucky for me the Japanese prefer white wheat bread and this rye bread was a leftover.Well if you Translate this into Japanese the only thing I can say is:you do not know what you are missing out on.Not only is rye healthier for you it is dark.Yes not that pure white bread,or pure white rice or pure white sugar you are used to.It is the colour of my skin. To sum up,NiOR has bread for all the pallates.Soft,hard,spicy,crusty it's all there.As well as patisserie sweets.This is not 5 star.This is **.
