Nakasange-terrace — Restaurant in Okayama

Found this hidden gem by luck the other night. The vibe in both the bar and on the rooftop were immaculate! And the food was some of the best we’ve ever had! The meat was tender, juicy and tasty, and the yakiniku-sauce went so well with it. We also had shrimps in a tasty, seasoned oily sauce with some bread on the side- incredible! The chicken-dish was also very tasty, and a must-try when visiting.

The staff were also super nice and really interested in talking with us. They were happy to have tourist here and were so nice to us. The owner even gave us recommendations for other restaurants for the rest of our trip in Japan. Kohei and Shimpei even gave us a tour in Karokuen the next day. They were genuinely the nicest people we’ve met on our trip and it really made a lasting impression on us. An amazing experience!! The staff were so welcoming and friendly. They were very eager to chat with us in English and teach us a bit of Japanese. We started off at the terrace, and I was a little worried because we went for a terrace view, but the tent was covering it. Kindly, the staff opened it up for us to see the sunset. Then they invited us to the bar and we made friends with some of the regulars. After many drinks, we ended the night singing karaoke together. A night I will hold very dear to me.

This was a wonderful place for a light meal and beer. The rooftop was set up so beautifully with pot plants, lighting and comfortable outdoor furniture. The Manager, Shimpei, was very welcoming and accommodating. He asked me to hang out with his friends, who were all so friendly and genuinely interested in hearing about my home country and my travels in Japan.
