Garyu-ya Ramen — Restaurant in Okinawa

This is our favorite ramen place. The ramen is delicious, and we love the fried cheese rolls. The sets are huge, maybe even too big. We always leave overly full. We try to get there a little before opening because there is always a lunch line, but it’s definitely worth waiting in line for. I love the shio ramen set and my husband loves the tsukemen set. Not bad but not great either. Pretty much middle of the road as far as ramen goes. Very customizable in terms of sets and sides to go along with your main dish. I would suggest bringing along a friend that speaks Japanese since ordering would be difficult otherwise (no English menus). Tends to be full so you might wait 15-25 minutes during peak hours.

This neighborhood joint is amazing. The menu is in English, with ticket ordering available. The sets are LARGE, so make sure to come hungry. The tsukumen is absolutely amazing, with just enough flavor and spice. Small place, so get there early (before 6pm) or there will be a wait. If there is a wait, there are benches outside or the Awase seawall to walk along. No boosters or high chairs/ kids menu so be aware of that. Highly recommend this...
