This is a themed restaurant and they do a great job transporting you to a different place. We started with two appetizers. Shrimp cocktail and the mushroom. The mushroom gets a 5 star as it tastes great and the presentation is on point. The shrimp cocktail presentation is equally impressive with dry ice fog, but it is pretty typical so gets a 4. Salad , soup, veggies and potato comes with the meal. The salad was very fresh. I think the soup was a mulligatawny. The garlic croutons were very garlicky. There are certain drinks you can order where you get a take home souvenir. So it's a great place if you are into things like that. We did the non alcoholic one with the blue and cream. Seemed more pineapple. The cream was from the coconut I'm guessing. I tried the fish sampler. 4 stars. It's nice with the variety, and the fish with crab meat was prepared well, but it wasn't the favorite. The coconut shrimp skewers were the best item out of the entrees. Those were large butterflied shrimp with flecks of coconut in the batter. The steak was a 3.75 for me. Acceptable. Service was very friendly, quick and efficient. I had a friend that spoke Japanese that came along so I wasn't sure how they would have handled just my English, but I feel like this is a touristy place so it should have been fine. Parking is available in a large lot. They take all the cards.

This place earned every star. You are greeted by a hawaiian king at the front door, a big bird and the live lobster you could consume(not the bird lol). Once you get past the front door you are greater by the receptionist in a sailor style outfit and they take you to your seats. The atmosphere there was really cool and you could tell they have been around for a long time. They have pictures with famous people on the walls, historical photos a hawaiian style canoe and many shark jaws. The style of ordering is like a higher end american restaurant. By that I mean you will be ordering the drinks and then the drinks come. The staff there had a close eye on my table so that once I was done with my plate then the next one was on the way immediately. Great job on their end 👏. We(2 people) ate escargot, Rockefeller Oysters, curry soup, house salad, fresh lobster with filet mignon and finally sirrlion steak with shrimp pasta. All of it tasted amazing. We were stuffed at the end and struggled to finish our food. The only things I wasn't a fan of was the bacon on the fillet mignon and how dark it was in the restaurant.

The customer service is what is actually holding the weight to my review. In the beginning and up to receiving my food they were awesome. We got seated fairly quickly( got there as they opened and had kids seated). They waited patiently as we decided what we wanted to eat. From the time sat down and began to eat, there was little wait. The appetizer was semi on point, soup was delicious, salad was light and just enough, and my main meal........... let’s say this is why I’m giving it 3 stars. The meal was delicious but the disappointing factor was how cold it was. What did not help was once we received all our food we did not get serviced meaning no one came around asking how our food was. We nearly had to yell at waitresses walking by to get them to pay attention to us. I had the Maine lobster and steak which I felt was not worth the money I paid. The lobster dish was suppose to be a whole lobster but after digging through seemed like half a lobster that was disguised with all the sauce ( that was because I had the saucy version instead of plain). If you choose the Maine lobster make sure you get something else besides the saucy one so you can see that you are in fact getting a whole lobster. Then again I would get their Tahitian lobster as that is cheaper and the sauce is really what I liked out of my dish. Overall if I had a hot meal and customer service throughout my entire meal, the night would have been complete and been worth taking my family to this place as the decor was fun.

Sams by the sea is one of those precious places that make you feel like you are on vacation! Its atmosphere is something to enjoy alone. The tiki salt n pepper shakers. The cauldron. (Which they take the extremely good soup out of!) the shell sinks in the bathroom. All of it perfect! The food stopped me in my tracks! I was not expecting food to be as delightful and delicious as this was! We all absolutely adored our dishes we got! The mahi mahi is so fresh! The steak and boiled shrimp is seasoned perfectly and cooked to your liking! They bring you soup and salad and the way they do service here is another experience on its own! The take home cups you can get with a fruity drink is my personal favorite part! These are no cheap plastic souvenir!! These are quality cups that I’m sure could be used again and again for years to come! All in all I adored this place! I admire their taste in service and decor and the way they execute it is outstanding! I highly recommend adding this place to your must eats list! And don’t forget to sign their guest book and say hello to the birds friends on the way out!

Always see the sign as I am headed home from MaxValu in Awase. Well I finally decided to check out and I wasn’t disappointed. The location is near the sea hence the name and has some historical photos from the 1960s when they start building. The lightning is okay for a cozy brunch/dinner date. There is multiple seating throughout the property. Decided to do takeout on a Sunday so not a lot of ppl. Per the note they prefer you call prior but they’ll still serve you regardless. They will bring your food out to you if you decide not to call. The takeout menu doesn’t have a lot in my opinion but you can also order off the regular menu. Ordered the salmon and snapper with mashed potato and fresh seasonal vegetables. It also came with dessert, soup, and salad. They have a cute white bird by the entrance—unsure if it’s real though 😂.

Between and 3⭐ and 4⭐. We made a reservation for 7 <day ahead and they had availability> and got to the restaurant with no reservation. We got there as it opened and were able to get a table without a wait. The staff seemed annoyed and I used Google translate to say a Japanese friend made the reservation. A day later my Japanese friend got a call asking where about the reservation, the the restaurant placed it under the wrong day. The soup was my favorite part of dinner. Salad was a typical Japanese salad, they com around and put your salad dressing of choice on there. My dinner was okay, the hype around this place is bigger than what I thought the food actual was. It's not bad food, maybe a go once kinda thing. The decor is super fun. Parking on site. Takes credit card and yen. Menu in Japanese and English.
