Big Heart — Restaurant in Okinawa

While this is definitely not the sort of upscale steakhouse experience you might get out of Sam's by the Sea, it is, in my opinion, better food, and a much better value for the money. The waitstaff don't speak English, but they are polite and accommodating.

Expect a wait - this is a local gem, and it is always busy.

I particularly recommend one of the 'Special Steak' sets. An absolutely delicious cut, cooked to perfection. All the steak sets come with thick-cut fries, mixed veggies, corn soup, and garlic bread. Unlike many garlic items on the island that seem to be tossed in a bin of garlic powder, this tastes perfect - not overwhelming at all.

Best steak in Okinawa. Best in the world? Hanger steak, which was traditionally not sold to customers by butchers, is the main fare here. And it's as good as you'd imagine considering that butchers would keep this cut for themselves. Big Heart's main attraction is their "特製" steak, which is the aforementioned hanger steak, and it is simply amazing. You'll get a drink and plenty of carbs to go along with it. Honestly, I'd come here any day of the week and pay ~2500 yen for a meal with 200g of steak over Kobe beef steak. This is a big chunk of delicious protein which in my opinion is way better than a big chunk of fat, for way, way less money. Forget Kobe beef and Ishigaki beef; Big Heart is where...

Soup is delicious, I beli be it was a mushroom with corn and cuts of ham in it. Delicious!

Fried rice the husband ordered was also yummy. Had nori in it, definitely a first to see! I didn’t realize it was garlic friend rice.

We ordered special steak 200 grams, cube cut beef 150 grams, 2 orders of their friend shrimp, kids meal which came with steak and fried chicken. All meals came with soup and salad!

Was so surprised that even their kids meal steaks were so tender, mom and dad indulged because ur child did not want to eat atm!
