Hermitage — Restaurant in Oshu

One of my favourite restaurants in Japan! The first time I went, I had the duck steak (it has a delicious salt crust)...and ever since that fateful day three years ago, I have frequented this place with my husband for mainly lunches as well as anniversary dinners and Christmas. Never have we been let down by any of the dishes. The cost performance of their lunch course is exceptional. My course recommendation is : smoked salmon entree, seasonal soup, bread, duck steak, dessert (any), and coffee/tea (which ever you prefer).

The chef has had training in France, which really shows. If you're lucky, there might be pigeon on the menu which is hard to come by. My only wish is that I lived closer so I could drink some wine with...

French cuisine. Paired white wine is excellent. Perfect for our taste.

Starter plate, seafood terrine, chicken ham and salmon quiche, demonstrate good combination of flavors.

Fresh baked bread and the corn soup are hearty. Love the cup that the corn soup served in.

Jobfish with Estragon sauce paired with wine just fine. Interesting texture.

Stewed pork is a surprise. It’s 三層肉. Did not realize this type of pork is typical of French cuisine. Flavor with a hint of classic vinaigrette sauce. Also spot on. I think French stewed pork is my new...

なんでも美味しいです。トマトスパゲッティ、シェフサラダ、ステーキ、洋梨のタルト！

2024年8月 これまでも何回か来ていますが、久しぶりに投稿させてもらいます。 今回は家族と一緒にランチ。

お店の雰囲気は昔からの特別感と今の新しさの融合。とても心地よいです。

ランチはコース、前菜からデザートまでバランスよくとても美味しい。今回は牛肉のステーキが特に素晴らしかった！肉の旨みと香ばしさ、ソースとの相性ばっちり。焼きたてパンもおかわりでき、ソースにつけて食べたらもう幸せ。

食器（カトラリー）もナプキンも高級感があって、食器は毎回同じものじゃないので新たな発見がある。

小さい頃から今までの家族との記憶がここに来ると思い出されて、何とも特別な気持ちになる。いつもありがとう...
