Wasyoku restaurant Omi Kaiseki Kiyomoto — Restaurant in Otsu

Had the Omi Beef Kaiseki, two umeshu and a mineral water. The food was exquisite, from the first course until the desert. The service was fast and attentive, it was lunch time and the bar was empty so i didnt need a reservation but for dinner might be hard to get in without it. The place was a little different with seats that go under floor level but comfortable once you get in there. Btw, I am missing a picture of the second course (a soup), because i drank half of it...

This is a fantastic Japanese restaurant. It features traditional kaiseki dishes along with modern twists on standard kaiseki flavors. The sake-kasu (sake lees) based sorbet was superb.

昨夜、近江懐石　清元　さんの『マリアージュを楽しむ夕べ』に参加しました。

12回目となる今回は、清元さんとニュージーランドに葡萄畑をもつ大沢ワインズさんのマリアージュを堪能しました。 清元の大将と星野ソムリエが立てられた献立との絶妙のペアリング!!

一品ずつ大将が目の前で調理された料理を星野ソムリエが注ぐワインでいただく最高のひと時を過ごせました。

琵琶湖鱒の炭火炙り、近江牛グラタン三宝柑盛り、近江牛花山椒鍋、釜飯筍ごはんなど、それぞれの料理に合ったワインが素晴らしかったです。
