ロイヤルインド — Restaurant in Sapporo

Well.. i love Indian restaurants in Sapporo in general. Also, the cooking. I ordered Lamb Curry, and my friend ordered butter chicken curry. I'll give you my honest review:

Taste: Lamb curry was okay. Butter chicken was too sweet, almost like a dessert. When asked, they said it's supposed to be sweet, although we ordered spice level 5. After complaining, they made it less sweet but added an unhealthy amount of butter, which both me and my friend did not want to eat for health reason.

Consistency: Lamb curry was too runny, almost like a soup. It seems they added too much water to the curry paste. When asked, they said, "That's how it is," lol. This answer didn't please me since i have been having lamb curry in most Indian restaurants in Sapporo. After complaining, they thickened the curry, but the taste was now non-existent.

Service: we reached at 8:30pm. The closing time is at 11pm. But there was only one part-time worker who seemed to be in a very rush to go home by 9pm. The rest of the night, we had to ask for service shouting at the kitchen, and after a while, one person would come out with agey/ dishes.

Price: After all this, the price was still on the higher end curry places. I am used to getting decent food at half this price with...

Cozy place to dine out. I got the vegetarian lentil curry (¥700) with plain naan--both to die for. If you're a spice addict like me I would definitely recommend paying an extra ¥100-200 yen for the 0-100 spice metre. The level 5 spice was quite mild.

I recall seeing 8 vegetarian curries on the menu as well as some veggie sides like samosas and battered mushrooms.

We had the spicy lamb curry and the dhal with some rice and plain naan. Very tasty curries. And the naan just looks amazing. The food was served quickly. Really enjoyed this meal. We went for heat levels of 2 for the dhal and 3 for the lamb. If you like heat you will need to ask for higher than this. The prices are...
