I hardly noticed any tourists; perhaps I found a sushi restaurant that locals prefer? It’s about 90% Japanese patrons and only 10% tourists dining here.
The service was characteristic of Japanese standards. While it wasn’t the absolute best, I would have preferred less interruption while enjoying my meal.
You can order food directly from the iPad in front of you. The menu supports several languages, including English, Chinese, Japanese, and Korean, as far as I recall.
Undoubtedly, the seafood in Hokkaido is the best and freshest I have ever tasted.
Getting there a bit earlier to avoid the crowds is a great idea! Arriving at the store around 10:40AM will give you just the right amount of time to hop in line and be ready to step inside when they open at 11AM.

the food is to be honest not better or worse than other sushi train place. the fish is fresh but watery. the rice is well made with each grain well defined and have good bounce as you bite. however the choice of local fish is very limited to salmon tuna albacore flounders and macakarel.
