Hidamari Café — Restaurant in Sasebo

Long review!

Run by a sweet couple, this place is an absolute gem! The husband runs the coffee experience in the front, and the wife runs the food and desserts. You can really feel (and taste!) the passion of what is being served here. I couldn't decide on which coffee to order, so he recommended the 2 choice tasting option. He roasts all the beans in house. He had me hand-grind my chosen selections and slow dripped them into glass vessels. You even select from the wall of beautiful coffee cups on the wall to drink from. I asked for the LEAST used cup to give love to an unpopular cup. He selected one with a simpler, natural aesthetic, made in Hokkaido (I think the 2nd cup I got was from Mikawachi)

Both coffees had a wonderful aroma after the grinding and a smooth, rich taste after the drip. I usually need a little milk and sugar to cut through the bitterness of black coffee, but these were really nice on their own!

I also got the tiramisu..because why not? That was delicious too.

I kinda wanted to gate-keep this place, but this little shop deserves to thrive! But keep in mind, this place has a relaxing vibe, so don't go there if you are in a rush.

I also saw that they cure their own bacon and make hot sandwiches with it. I didn't get to enjoy that since I had already had lunch, so I will definitely need to come...

Absolutely unbelievable location such a fun experience. Owner speaks English him and his wife hand roast the coffee beans in the store. There is bacon cured by the owner over the course of eight days. His story is so much fun they’re so kind the food is unbelievable you can taste the love, this will be a new spot for me.
