After descending from Kunozan Toshogu Shrine, I stopped by Strawberry Café Kunoya, and it was such a delightful experience!
I ordered their strawberry daifuku mochi, strawberry juice, and a strawberry mix parfait. Everything was so fresh and full of flavor, highlighting the natural sweetness of the strawberries. I also bought a pack of Ebi Homare shrimp crackers to bring home as a souvenir. They were absolutely delicious, honestly, I regret not buying more.
The café itself is spacious, and despite being busy with many visitors, it was easy to find a table. The atmosphere was cozy and relaxing, making it a pleasant place to enjoy some strawberry-themed treats.
I heard they usually offer a strawberry-picking experience, but unfortunately, it wasn’t available during my visit. Hopefully, I’ll get to try that next time.
Overall, Strawberry Café Kunoya is a must-visit if you're in the area, especially if you're a fan of strawberries....
Read moreJanuary is the start of strawberry season and it's when they are the sweetest. I am truly grateful to have had the opportunity to experience picking strawberries for the first time and for that experience to be here in Japan, specifically #shizuoka prefecture.
Paid around 2200¥ and got to pick and eat as many strawberries as I could in 30 minutes. I think I easily had 20 before I couldn't anymore. So many fresh, juicy, beautiful strawberries at your fingertips. When you see what the prices go for strawberries at the grocery stores, this is hands down a sweet deal.
If you have a chance to make it to a strawberry farm in January, go and enjoy!

Read moreWe were deeply disappointed with our strawberry-picking experience offered by this store. Though the staffers were kind and attentive (given the language barriers between us), they only made one row of strawberries available to us for picking whereas there were several row out there. What even worse was that most of the strawberries grown in that particular row were under-ripe and tiny. With a ticket price of 2,000 yen per person, we didn’t recommend this...
