Haruyu — Restaurant in Takashima

Chanced upon this lovely little restaurant just before heading to the wonderful metasequoia trees road.

Decor was tastefully done and place was modern.  A hip vibe was probably what the owner had intended.

We ordered the set of tonkatsu pork/ prawns.  It was well done and delicious.  Came with salad, soup, rice, and tasty dips.

We also had the beef curry rice which was ok, nothing out of the usual but a generous helping.

Price was not cheap but deserving.  The portions were alright and food was nice.

Service was efficient and not too bad.  Staff was attentive. Ambience was definitely a plus, cozy and laid back.

We drove here n parking was just next to the restaurant, foc.

The most delicious smoked Biwako trout, incredible deer 🦌 jerky, the dressing on the salad was amazing and the smoked duck 🦆 was also great.

And that was just the entree!

For main, the hamburg cooked in a stone bowl was the highlight for me! I had the spicy sauce which was perfectly balanced.

The interior of the restaurant is warm and homely and the owner and staff made our dinner a night to remember.
