Chopsticks Koenji Main Store — Restaurant in Tokyo

A great, hidden-gem for when you crave Vietnamese food.

I arrived in Koenji not feeling too grand, craving a bowl of comfort. Thanks to Google Review I learnt about Chopsticks and able to find the place despite its inconspicuous location.

Do not be deterred, you can find it - head to the North Exit of Koenji Station, turn left when you see the fresh produce market on your left, walk on pass the croquette stall (pass the temptation to fill your stomach for now, you can buy it later), watch out for the entrance of the food court on your right with the green signage, slid the door open, head straight in, and you'll be there).

They serve fragrant bowls of pho (I ordered the chicken, before I saw that they have chicken and tomatoes! 🤓), selections of bahn mi and cooked rice dish. They also offer lunch set (several combination of half-half portions) which I hope to try...

I’ve been coming to Chopsticks Koenji for a while now, and it has truly become one of my favorite spots in the city. As someone who doesn’t eat beef or pork, finding great options can sometimes be tricky, but their chicken pho is absolutely amazing. I’ve tried it many times, and it’s consistently delicious – a comforting, flavorful bowl of goodness that I can always count on.

The first time I visited, my partner introduced me to this place, and I was hooked from the very first bite. Since then, it’s become a regular spot for me. The staff here are incredible – always welcoming, attentive, and genuinely kind. They go out of their way to make every visit enjoyable.

Ordered on Uber eats and will never order from here again the amount of soup given barely fit a glass cup and the taste was so bland. Pho broth for both the Pho Ga and Pho Bo tam was bland just tasted like boiled water... I was expecting this place to be great from the reviews, but so far it has been the worst pho restaurant I've ordered from. Also why would you add lettuce to my pho soup.. also my pho gan had literally one piece of chicken. And there was no bean sprouts. The banh mi and other items looks good but for me the phó was really bad and I ended up throwing away the food. Please be more curtious for delivery food for other customers...
