Kaishoken — Restaurant in Tokyo

As a foreigner in this little area of Kokubunji, sometimes it's hard to connect with the locals. But when I stepped into this little Ramen shop and ordered ramen, I felt very welcomed. Several customers offered me a snack that they were eating even though I was pretty much keeping to myself (offering snacks to other strangers in a restaurant is a Japanese custom, I think). Once I accepted the snack, we began talking and the owner joined in the conversation. They were very kind and even offered to help me with my Japanese every week at the ramen shop.
