Amazing 🤩 Relatively affordable, quick and delicious unagi. Unagi is usually pretty pricey. This shop serves delicious and affordable unagi, and is mostly a takeaway style shop. They do have some seating, somewhere. I’m not sure how that works though. I think you can just ask to dine in. I just got done with a workout and was really craving unagi. This shop was exactly what I was looking for. Their bento prices when I visited the shop were as follows: Unagi Bento without rice - ¥3,000 Unagi Bento with rice - ¥3,300 They normally have other options as well but, I think they were only serving bentos today. I got a bento with rice, and took it to Rinshi-no-mori (a nearby quiet neighborhood park). At the entrance of the park there is a vending machine so you can grab your self a drink to go with your bento!

I had the eel’s liver and unseasoned eel, or I shall say supper fatty eel. Both were excellent! As expected, liver has an astringent flavour; chewy part mingle with soft, creamy part. I thought such sharp flavour would overpower the fish, but it didn’t at all! The eel actually helps balance out aftertaste of liver, yet still be able to taste the fish. I like that they provide you another way to eat eels, wasabi with salt or wasabi with soy sauce. Although I’m not sure these are the best way to eat with.

Update. Returned for a late lunch. The service was fast. The take-out menu only has a few choices. I ordered the mid-range. The unagi was pretty good. The skinside wasn't as crispy as I would have liked, but it also wasn't chewy. There seemed to be a lot of fat under the skin, which made the unagi creamier. It was nice. The pickles were too salty, and there wasn't enough rice. Overall, it was tasty. Went on a weekday for a late lunch. I ordered the large eel bento. I didn't eat it right away, but it was still really good. I'll go back and eat in and see if that changes my rating.

A bit off the main attraction, though quite close if u come to see sakura at meguro river. I arrived there almost 14.00 and still have to wait for table, it s popular among locals as far as i can see. Sauce is lightly salted and full of smoke aroma. it s smoky bitterness and fresh exceptional natural quality eel (not like those from farm in China) though slightly too much fat for me. But it is surely one specialty unagi place to visit sure sure.

We went on a day when it was surprisingly not too crowded and were.seated within 10 minutes. The seating area itself is like a mystical dining room up the staircase of an old house with just three tables, and you walk through the amazing smell of charcoals and unagi to get there. Once seated, the menu is pretty simple. It is expensive but worth the price! The unagi was fresh and delicious, and eating in this ambience has a meditative feel to it.

Have been eating their unagi for the past 15+ years — my mother and grandmother for over 40 years — and this place beats all others hands down, regardless of delivery, takeout or eat-in. Well worth waiting in line for 30+ minutes minimum for takeouts and re-heating doesn’t change the savory taste.
