We came with an appetite because we knew we were going to eat our hearts out! I had heard good things about the restaurant and was excited to try it out for myself. It sure did not disappoint! We arrived parked in the first parking lot to the right and then walked to the hotel entrance. Up the stairs from the lobby we found the restaurant and gave them The reservation name. I suggest making a reservation to guarantee your table. We had to wait 2 days for a seat. It was worth the wait though. The three of us were seated at large table by the window and then we were given a tablet to order from. At first we were very confused about the process. It would have helped if upon arriving we were asked if we had been there before and then given instructions. Unfortunately, I think the language barrier was what caused a delay in us being able to order and figure out the process. I’m about to explain so you can go at ease… when you get the tablet you pick if you’re going to chose which all you can eat buffet you want or if you rather specific plates. My daughter wasn’t so hungry so she got the soy chicken and loved it! My husband and I got the all you can eat dumplings and started pressing a few we wanted to try. While those were being made we went to the salad and soup bar. We made ourselves a ramen soup and by the time we came back to our table a part of our order was being served. We continued to pick options that caught our eye and also added the all you can drink to the bill. After we were full of food and desserts we went to the cashier to pay our tab. Super easy and delicious! My favorites items were the crab claw, fried spring rolls and dumplings! We will definitely be returning and hope you guys try it out too! P.S. Normally I take more pictures but was too busy...
Read moreHas the all you can eat dim sum with some friends today but I have been here before so I’ll combine reviews.
For starters: make a reservation if you’re going on the weekend otherwise you’ll be stuck waiting about 30-45 minutes while they seat everyone else that reserved a spot. Both the tablelog or calling work for reservations.
Second: note that some items are kind of seasonal. When we went back in July there was chicken feet in the menu, non existent this time but there was soft shell crab so keep that in mind.
If they are busy some items can take a while but you should not be waiting more than 15 minutes so have a rough timer in your head and tell staff if you ordered something and it hasn’t arrived yet.
There is a self service: soup, ramen, Okinawa soba, tea, area that you can use while waiting for your dim sum.
Both times I’ve gone our tablet has malfunctioned and we had to wait for staff to figure it out before we could order round two.
Pro strat: when you receive one set of items, order your next. When you’re on your fifth set wait to finish before ordering more because you may be too full and you don’t want to get charged for leftovers.
Would highly recommend this place and get the...
Read moreWe were just turned away at Makan Makan for a reservation bc of my tattoos. First of all, no where in making reservations online was there any mention of no tattoos allowed. The questionnaire for reservations is in depth: asking about allergies, if we’re staying at the hotel, children in the party, etc. and I translated every part of it and no where was anything mentioned about tattoos. Additionally, the woman who worked at the hotel who stopped us at the door was extremely rude about it. Just an FYI for anyone planning to go there. We had this reservation booked for weeks. I would have gladly covered up if I had known ahead of time. The look on her face and the fact that it’s not mentioned anywhere when reserving a table is really disappointing. We’ve been on island a year and this is the first time I’ve encountered an establishment that has turned us away bc...
