Oyanagi — Restaurant in Yachimata

Every Japanese town's got that one local sushi spot the neighbourhood swears by — and this is that place. Might feel a bit intimidating for tourists, not the flashiest joint, but honestly? 100% worth walking in.

You won’t find this kind of quality for the price anywhere abroad. Not even that often in Japan, to be fair. It's not trying to be one of those posh high-end sushi places — and that’s not a bad thing. It’s just solid, honest sushi.

Top shout? The tuna. Especially the aged red tuna – proper rich flavour, like the kind you'd expect at places way out of your budget. It’s run by an elderly couple, super quiet and maybe a bit shy around foreign guests, but they mean well.

If you’re near Yachimata Station, don’t skip it....

八街に10年くらい住んでてずっと気になっててやっと行けたお店！ 駐車場は線路をはさんだ先の議員事務所のとなりに、ありました。 店内は懐かしい雰囲気！すごい綺麗なお店ではないんだけどパーテーションとか、ビニールカーテン、消毒と、すごく気を遣ってる感じ。 ビニールのテーブルクロスははたして必要なのか、、とは思いましたが。。

お料理は予想通り！美味しかったです！ 千葉県のソウルフード（なのか？）なめろうと イワシの梅シソ巻き揚げ。 にぎり、納豆巻きを食べました。 なによりお味噌汁が美味い！

いつもは割と混んでるイメージだったのですが 今日はガラガラ、途中から数組はいってきました。 座席数が少ないからすぐいっぱいになっちゃうかな。 線路のすぐ隣だから当然だけど 電車くると揺れます。 音はそんなに気にならないか...
