Joyfull Yamaguchi Hirai — Restaurant in Yamaguchi

This location is hit and miss in terms of service. My issue with this place is that they don't seem overly interested in taking orders, or bringing them to the table. Several years ago I walked out after waiting 15 minutes after ringing the bell for service. No one ever came, though they looked at me as they walked by. Visits with a friend more recently took over 15 minutes for them to bring a beverage from the kitchen. On my last visit, after my meal, which surprisingly came quickly and with no errors, I decided to have a piece of cheesecake for dessert. I ordered, and again, more than 15 minutes later, it had not made its way to my table. I asked for the bill, was asked if the cheesecake had come (obviously not), so I explained that I didn't have all day to sit around and wait for a slice of pie. The absent cheesecake was removed from my bill and I cleared out. It's unfortunate that I can't get reliable service at this location.

Edit: The level of service has increased slightly. They're still a little slow, usually seem understaffed, but last night the server told us up front that it might take a little time to get our orders out. They've apparently added an "Order from QR code" option at all the tables. I haven't bothered...

A nice Restaurant that's in walking distance from the University and open 24/7. They have a variety of dishes, a little bit western food, too. The personnel is friendly and fast and even if the drinking Cups are a little bit small, there is a Drinkbar and you can get a free refill...
