Great place. The pie was delicious along with a nice view surrounded by autumn leaves. We had tea, along with various pies. Lemon custard, pumpkin pudding, sour cherry, banana chocolate. They were all great tasting. The sour cherry was very sour, so don’t expect that sweet of a pie, but it was very good. The service was great as well, very respectful and answered any questions. It is a very busy place, but ample parking. If the parking is full then the wait might be long. If you don’t want to wait avoid “tea time” times. They did sell out of things quickly as well. If you are in the area, it is definitely worth the trip.

We went to this cafe on December 22nd around 11:00. Apparently, pets are allowed on the terrace, but children under 10 are not admitted ! We were not given the opportunity to taste anything just because we had two well-mannered children under 10 !!!! It is ridiculous and offensive in a country grappling with such a pronounced birthrate issue !!! In this place, parents are penalized because they made the choice not to let this beautiful country die ! But that is not all. Learning that we would not be permitted inside, we asked for an apple pie take-out, request which was denied again. We were penalized for the second time !!!!! Then, we asked for a coffee take-out. Request denied again ! NO ENTRY, NO FOOD, NO DRINK, just because we had children under 10 ! Of course, we had our opinion directly conveyed to the person in charge. Places like Paper Moon should be BOYCOTTED !!!

There was a line even on weekdays. When I arrived around noon, they had already stopped taking to-go orders. I had an apple pie and a cup of cafe latte. They were delicious but a bit expensive (more than 1700yen in total). There’s a real fireplace inside the cafe so I think it’s kind of natural that they have the “Adults only” policy. Edit: I visited again and loved the pear tart :) The apricot cheesecake was a bit too sour to me.

I had Apple Pie with vanilla ice cream which seems so popular here, along with cappuccino. This is just my opinion; it was ok, not really good honestly as the ice cream tasted cheap artificial ready made one which destroyed the apple pie's flavor. But the cafe space has a good view and cozy interior and they had cute zakka for sale. So it might be a good place to have a break around this area.

Best tiramisu I had in a long time. Had to wait in a long line, for about an hour but it was totally worth it. The walnut bar we got to take home was super good we should have gotten more. We also bought some t-shirts at the opposite corner they have for cute things so might be good for those of you who didn’t bring enough changes for an unexpected hiking!

Must try their pies with vanilla ice cream, and their coffees are also amazing! Went in on a weekday afternoon and managed to get in without a reservation. Beautiful ambience inside, perfect for those lazy afternoons to reflect and reminisce. Plenty of parking next to the cafe. Kids below 10 are not allowed, but I snuck my 9-yr old in anyways 😋
