I was visiting my friend here and when he said he's going to take me to a Spanish restaurant in Japan, I was full of doubts. But we just finished dinner and I can honestly say this experience was one of the highlights of my trip.
Regarding non-alcoholic drinks, for people who like ginger ale, I would recommend the ginger ale with lime non-alcoholic cocktail. The added acidic cuts through the sweetness of the ginger ale which is fantastic on a hot summer night.
We had seasonal eel and summer vegetable paella, mushroom and ham ajillo, and grilled fish. I first thought, summer vegetable and eel... I can't put those together in my head. But once they put the dish in front of us, I was fully convinced. The presentation itself was gorgeous. We were sitting at the bar so they didn't give us the hotplate. Instead, they presented the dish in the bowl for us. Even so, the presentation is still nothing short of excellence. The taste of the dish was amazing, and with each bite the flavor bursts in my mouth. Just when I thought something this good couldn't be better, I added a dash of the garlic mayo that came with the paella. Absolutely mind blowing. Just for this dish, I would wait an hour for this restaurant. The grilled fish was accompanied with clams and potato wedges. The fish was tender and the sauce was absolutely fantastic with their complimentary bread. For those who don't like cilantro, please inform them because they do put a good amount on the dish. The mushroom and ham ajillo was really good as well, but I think the balance of the ham and mushrooms is a little off. I think a little less ham on the mushrooms will make the dish a little less salty, but I guess it's really good with bread. The presentation was very fascinating. Not only it's pleasing to the eyes, the cross made by the toothpicks made it really easy to pick up. That's one thing that's consistent in this shop, it's all in the details.
Watching the chef cook was quite the experience. You can tell he puts his heart and soul into every dish, and it really shows in the presentation and taste. Seeing our wonderful food made in front of our eyes was indeed a master class. He's also very charismatic and made us felt very welcome.
The only thing that I would change about this store is probably their dishwasher. The plates and utensils aren't the cleanest. However, the staff, the atmosphere, the food, they make this store a truly must-visit when someone...

17th Dec 2021 update ====== How good can a paella be ? I am glad that you asked ! 😅😂 It's good enough that you ask your best friend to have an early dinner there and get an M size paella for two to hop on the 8 PM Shinkansen to Tokyo, just so that true paella lovers can enjoy it from 22:30. If that doesn't put it into words not sure what does. 😂🤣😅
Your main struggle will be to decide between the seafood Paella and the black (ikazumi) and that my friend is a true blessing in disguise 🥸
But whatever your decision, be rest assured it's going to be really really good. You do not have to be a foody to appreciate it, but if you are, you will be over the moon. :-)
Que approveche !
20th Nov 2021 ====== 😯 Make sure to reserve or come early ! Everything changes the moment you open that door !
An authentic Spanish restaurant: Latin ballroom style music like Cha Cha Cha, Salsa etc, table top counter with tiles, wooden tables and of course great tapas, food and wines !
The selection of seven tapas is brilliantly awesome ! Looks intriguingly simple, and tastes unbelievable ! Great attention to detail !
Ooh and then there is the paella !! 🥘 :-0 Well, I leave that to you to discover that. Some things are best unspoken 😁
Obviously the owner has great passion and sense for food, drinks and people !
Also hospitality is top notch ! This is a very easy recommendation - not only for your next date, but also to treat yourself after a stressful week at work:-)
If this doesn't win her over, nothing does ! 😁 It's also a good treat if you messed up and want her to...
Read moreWe went there after 5pm on a Saturday and they let us in saying they were fully booked but it would be possible if we left by 6.45pm. I liked the cosy atmosphere and the food was fantastic with real Spanish ham. Unfortunately there was a waiter who was terrible at pouring beer.
I would like to go again with a...
