New Delhi Curry House — Restaurant in Yomitan

The best Indian curry shop in Okinawa! My favorite item on the menu is the double curry set - it gives you the opportunity to try two curry’s in one (my preference being Coconut Chicken Curry and Chicken Tikka Masala, one sweet and one spicy!) You’ll also receive a naan, rice, salad plus drink! (I recommend the masala tea.) It is a very filling meal so come hungry. The staff is also very kind. When my son was 5 the kind woman working there gave him a side of grapes as we were waiting for our to go order - just because he was curious if one of their grape decorations were real or not. I know that doesn’t relate to the restaurants food, but it made an impact on me that kept me coming back time and time again. She has a very kind heart and you can tell they take their food and service very seriously. I’m sad to be leaving the island soon and won’t be able to come back. I went on Monday, May 17, 2022. My coworker and I ordered a lunch set each. Regrettably, upon arrival of the food my coworker noticed a long hair in the center of the dish. We showed the server/owner the hair and he said he would make a new dish. I kept my plate and started eating. The new dish was brought out in about five minutes. My coworker began to eat the new dish. The server/owner and cook looked at us while we were eating the food. My coworker felt uneasy by this. I figured it was just a simple mistake and the new dish was okay. Unfortunately, a shorter hair was found in my coworkers new dish! We both decided to pay the ticket and leave. The server/owner apologized and stated we did not have to pay the bill. We won’t be going back to the restaurant. I was in the mood for some authentic Indian food with good nan and a variety of options. This spot did not disappoint! As soon as we walked in around lunch time it was obvious this was a favorite spot amongst Americans. The restaurant is big, clean and well decorated. We found a spot by the window and began scrolling through the menu. My daughter and I love coconut and were excited to try the coconut chicken and coconut nan. I also got the butter chicken with garlic nan. My friend really enjoyed her chicken korma with cheeses garlic nan. The food was flavored perfectly and it was very filling.
