Went for breakfast for the first visit with some biker mates as our usual place was full. Nice enough sitting outside in the autumn sun. Inside is very kitsch and dated, I quite like traditional, but this wasn't it. Service was fairly quick, food came out unnervingly fast making me wonder if it was precooked and then portioned on to plates which when eating it seemed like it was the case. Sausage dry at both ends, bacon same, eggs greasy, hash brown was OK, black pudding was the best bit, beans spilling out of a tiny ramekins. Coffee was average filter coffee. VFM not amazing. £21 total for 2 small breakfasts with 2 coffee (tea and coffee not included) Would I recommend, at a push. 4/10 I will however revisit as I get that everyone has bad days and it was fairly busy and gone 11am. So if things improve I'll alter my score.

This is a great Cafe! The 8 bus stops outside (Portfoner Station). Great place to kick off a hike around the western cape of Jersey. Or you could start from beach in Ouens Bay, in vicinity of Channel Islands War Museum or Le’taq (bus 22) and finish here, catching Bus 8 back. Take timetable as bus 8 is every two hours whereas bus 22 (very scenic and double decker) is hourly. The fresh juice and soup of the day was first class. Very warm and cosy, and really friendly staff. Closed Mondays. Thank you 🙏🫶

Lovely, peaceful surroundings. Tasty simple food. Would recommend the poached eggs with spinach; or the goats cheese, apple and walnut salad.

What a miserable experience and a miserable server. The sign outside read "Cafe open until 16:30". However; it didn't say that there was no hot food available or as it was so eloquently put by the sour faced attendant" Kitchen is Closed, Cakes and Hot Drinks Only!" and when the server was asked what Cakes do you have, the answer was "They are in the Fridge". So, the only response was for all five of us to walk out.

10 Mar 20202 - I have had time to reconsider this review as I wondered to myself if it was a little harsh or the server was just having a bad day; but, on reflection, I cannot believe how rude the server was and how obvious it was that this man was ready to shut up shop at 15:30 even though there was still an hour to go before closure. Therefore; after reconsideration I stand by my initial review and would suggest that the Ouen cafe looked for more open and...

Pulled over at this charming cafe stop with 84 year old father in law who wanted a little tea break. Just ordered refreshments and a cream tea served by polite young staff. Nice scone and Jersey cream. Tea failed to arrive ...no problem...a gentle reminder and the owner apologised and supplied the missing brew. Then followed an explanation that we hadn't been charged for it so it was extra. Elderley father in law corrected him and produced receipt. Further apologies...no problem. Next venue trying to pay and elderly father in law realises he was passed a very obvious fake note in his cafe change...that was a problem. Left a bitter taste...
