My partner and i have walked by this place numerous times. I wasn’t sure what to expect because the reviews were a bit of a mix of good and bad. I usually like to go experience it myself because many bad reviews can just be personal attacks on the business. In this case I was so glad we went to try this place out. All the servers were wonderful. So polite and helpful. The portions were a very good size. We had so much left over that we had to take it home and have it later. The flavours were amazing with all the dishes. Kung pao chicken was perfection. The special fried rice was incredible and the pork dish was also amazing. If you love hot and sour soup then definitely order it. I was feeling a little sick at the time so the hot soup really helped to warm me up and tasted sensational. We will definitely be coming back. And to the people writing that the portions were small….well all I can say is maybe you need to eat a little less then. Cause the portions were perfect for the price point that you are paying. And also to those complaining about the servers being rude. It’s complete utter lies. They were all great. Lastly to people complaining about the 10% service charge…all I have for you is the biggest eye roll 🙄 on the planet. First of all it says that clearly in big bold letters in the menu so if you don’t like it then leave. Also these people are on their feet all day serving everyone. A few extra pounds going in their pocket is the least we can do. Im from Canada so we are used to paying a minimum of %15 to servers. That’s the least we can do for great service and...
Read moreThe only restaurant open at 5 in the evening. Asian number 1! Hahaha! Seriously, they are gonna have customers as they're open! I saw asian owners therefore it is legit and has gained ASIAN seal of approval from me. I was hungry. We opted for a light dinner. This restaurant is located near the central market.
We went in, was sat down and menu on our hands. Had 1 bowl of rice and 2 kinds of meat. After we did our order, they gave us a side of prawn crackers. The lady brought us food warmer, warmed plates and eating utensils. We have not finished our prawn crackers and our food has arrived. Less than 10minutes I believe food already was put on our table. I said "wow thats fast". Kitchen is not yet busy, she quipped.
The special fried rice was about 2 cups? It had a good amount of shrimps that I ate. It had peas and egg pieces. The rice grains had wok hei (charred nicely which gave a good smokey flavor to the rice)
We had squid in black bean sauce. Squid was tender with onions, bellpeppers and the sauce. Not too salty, just right.
The pork in hongkong style sauce was very legit. The pork pieces were properly coated in batter and fried til golden and crunchy. Sauce coated it so well. Sweet and tangy. Pineapple pieces, green bellpeppers and onions to compliment the dish.
They accept cash and card. They do take aways and dine ins. Efficient Service charge...
Read moreThis was our first visit to this restaurant and we will not be going back. For our starters we ordered the mixed Hors D’oeuvres share platter for two. This consisted of 4 very small ribs, 4 very small prawn toasts, a very small portion of seaweed, 4 very small spring rolls and 2 chicken satay. The cost £26.00. It all resembled an Iceland party pack!
Our mains consisted of Sweet & sour prawn balls (6) £13.00 Special fried rice £8.80 Pork chop suey £11.00
The food was not particularly good and the portions were small. In all, the food was very over priced and underwhelming.
Do not have an issue with the bar prices. 1 Bottle of white wine £19.95 2 liqueur coffees 12.00
In all, with the service charge of £9.05, the bill for the above came to £99.80, and that was for just two people.
The service was adequate, albeit we nearly got served another tables dish.
Very very...
