We visited tonight as a family with young children. We chose here because we knew the Liberation chain from living in Guernsey and believed the standard to always be high. Unfortunately we were left disappointed. Firstly, they didn't have the alcohol free cocktail I wanted. I then ordered a cider, only for them to bring me the alcoholic version. If I hadn't noticed the bottle, I could've drunk it accidentally which wouldn't have been good as I am breastfeeding my baby. Secondlly, we ordered a starter and were asked if we wanted the children's meals to arrive with it. We requested for it to come out first, and then all of our main meals at the same time. They all arrived together. Thirdlt, we asked for ketchup. This didn't arrive so we asked again, and by the time it did, my son had finished his chips! We also had to ask again for the children's drinks which had not arrived. Finally, there was so much salt on the food. My husband had fish and chips, and you could see the salt covering the fish. The children's chips were so salty and given that the menu states that they consider salt and sugar levels for children, it is a little concerning. My pie was fine. We mentioned these errors at the end and the waitress did apologise. She seemed very stressed but understood our concerns (almost like she knew there was a problem) and didn't charge us for the children's meals. The restaurant seemed quite chaotic and we overheard the staff saying a number of things were unavailable. Unfortunately this experience did not set a good impression and we will not return when we are...
Read moreIf I could give this place 0 stars I would. We have never been before but thought we would take advantage of the 25% off deal. The pie of the week and camembert were not available, might it be an idea to tell customers this when they are seated? The pepsi max was flat. My partner ordered a battered sausage and curry sauce. Upon cutting into said battered sausage, it was completely RAW and grey in colour 🤢. The waitress was very apologetic and quickly took it away. We then tried our "mac & cheese" which had... no cheese. It tasted vile. We called the manager over, who was very rude and had zero customer service skills. He simply offered to replace the food or take it off the bill, no apology given at all.. baring in mind, by this point the entire meal was a disaster. We actually heard another table complaining about their food at the same time. Upon paying the manager did however take our drinks off as a gesture of good will but an apology would have been nice. On a plus side, the garlic bread was ok. I would absolutely AVOID this place unless you want food poisoning. I now understand why they are...
Read moreWorst mothers day lunch. Just like the food on my plate, I was embarrassed to be there. Felt sorry for the waiting staff that had, what felt like, zero support. 3 hours to get 2 courses out is unacceptable from the kitchen, especially when you're not fully booked and only 1 hour into service. I'm not even going to talk about the quality of the food as I'll be here all night.
Liberation Group, if you can't put together a team to produce quality, then don't bother opening at all. Don't serve utter crap and scrape by just to cash in on Mother's day. It's not a good luck for your company and it's certainly not a good luck for the island.
Again, the waiting staff tried their best and I'm not putting anything on them. The company and the kitchen needs to sort their s* out.
If I don't wanna go out to eat in Jersey anymore, there's no wonder tourism is going...
