Nice food with a big price tag and questionable service. The setting is great: fairy lights outside with lovely decor - the perfect place to take a date. We were welcomed warmly and asked for our drinks orders. I was a little disappointed to see no Japanese beers on offer however. The drinks came soon enough but we had to wait a little while for our starter which we shared. The scallops were small individually and there were just three of them sparsely dotted around the plate. For the price we paid (£10), I would be disappointed to receive that even for one person. The wait for our main was over an hour. In the meantime we were ignored by staff which was rather frustrating. My dragon special rolls were nice but again I felt it was nothing out of the ordinary at £14.50. My partner had crab which he was happy with although it takes some dedication to eat! I think overall, this is a nice place but it is not authentic enough for me and certainly not worth the sizeable bill and a wait.

Still the best place for sushi in Jersey. Need I say more.. oh alright then.. Soy is centrally located, with a modern decor and you certainly feel comfortable when sitting down to eat. The tables are a fraction on the high side but other than that it's good and has an outside area for the nicer, warmer evenings or maybe lunch. Then menu is a good size with plenty to choose from and the standard of cuisine is excellent for the price point. We enjoy visiting Soy often and would recommend it. Kaizen crispy rolls are worth mention and so are the ramen dishes if you fancy going for a light lunch. Service is attentive and consistent with normal wait times for food and pleasant staff on hand. All in all a decent restaurant and stands out locally in terms of Japanese food.

I only ordered the Ramen dish. I have eaten ramen the world over. This is just not it. Very disappointing. Egg was cold, noodles tasted store bought but the broth was beyond boring. It feels like it was made in a rush, the broth is just plain boring beef stock at best. It’s far too expensive for what it was. Sorry to say but it’s the worst I’ve ever had. However, the beef was beautifully tasting. That was made with passion. The broth was rushed. First photo is their ramen dish. Looks very good. But it’s not. Second photo is in Lisbon, this ramen was OUTSTANDING! The broth was so amazing.

IF VEGAN/VEGGIE/WITH ANY ALLEGIES PLEASE READ

This is the worst restaurant I have ever been to both as a vegan and non vegan. If I could give this a zero star I would. Myself and my partner are both vegan and in Jersey with family who aren't vegan. On the menu, physical and online there was multiple vegan options - gyoza, katsu curry, yakisoba veg noodles, veg sushi, veg sizzling skillet and multiple side dishes. These were all labeled v/vg - vg being vegan. We just happened to double check whether these were actually vegan with the waitress which luckily we found out that actually they only had 1 vegan option and the rest were actually not vegan. Some of the meals had oyster sauce in and were labelled v/vg so were even claiming to be vegetarian which is a complete lie. When we spoke to the supposed manager (who had previously claimed that the manager wouldn't have even let us sit down in the restaurant) he just claimed that in Jersey the labelling standards do not apply and the menu can say anything. He got funny with us about contesting the vegan options and the fact that the menu was wrong. When we then asked for the drinks we ordered to be compensated as we had to leave without eating due to them lying on the menu, he threw a tantrum and was sassy and sarcastic about us even asking - saying 'fine just take the drinks whatever'. Worst customer service i have experienced and dangerous labelling of a menu - if you were allergic to shellfish, it would have been a serious health concern if you had ordered the...

DO NOT GO HERE!!!! Would have given zero of I could. The worst service I've ever had at a restuarant. We felt unwelcome from the moment we arrived because we didn't know what the 'tenner menu" was and because our waiter told us that 'he wouldn't have let us in if it were up for him' because of the short staff and the busy time. Which is fair but also not my fault. We had also picked thenrestuarnt because on the menu it showed a few vegan options, it turned out it was only 1 option, the rest were only veggie because they  contained oyster sauce (which is not vegetarian). When we called it out we received  nothing but defensiveness claiming they were well within their right to lie on their menu. We decided to leave and the main (irish) guy got very shirty with us. We asked for the drinks to be waived and instead of being accommodating he threw a tantrum and walked off. So we did get the drinks free but not through a reasonable negotiation He had no respect for us, or time or our values. I personally am not vegan but he rudeness and dismissiveness of the staff mean I will never go to or recommend this restuarant again. It is unacceptable to lie on your menu , whatever the reason but it could have been way more of an issue of we have allergies or intolerances...

We went in as a family of 6 (2 children ) for lunch, after seated, it took about 20 minutes for one person to take order, and another 50 minutes for the food to arrive. The restaurant is 1/3 full.

The food was good, until my husband found ceramic like sharp and hard pieces in his mouth when he was eating the “Spider”roll .. thank goodness they didn’t break his teeth, but certainly hurts and worrying!

We call the man who took our order. He came over and wrap the hard pieces away. We thought he was taking it seriously. To our surprise, not at all. He never came back to our table to make explanation or apologise.

When we ask for the bill, and at the same time ask for an explanation of the incident. The man just say it might just be some crab shells, it happens. No apology, let alone any good will gesture. They seems to think finding stone hard sharp shell in a sushi roll is normal, expected.

We are really not impressed with the entire lunching experience here. Will not come back again, and not recommend the restaurant.

If you do go, be careful when you are eating. You never know which bite has sharp object in it. It is normal for this restaurant’s...
