๐จ๐ฝโ๐ณ The service ๐ฉ๐พโ๐ณ
Waiters at Ankole Grill are calm, welcoming and attentive, ready to gladly serve the clients. I'm always big on service and I was honestly satisfied by the waiting staff at the establishment. My friend and I were not rushed to make our orders, and even when we couldn't make a decision, the waiter offered recommendation upon request.
The drinks and food were served just on time and the waiter provided us with hot towels wherever the need arose to clean our hands. I enjoyed the fact that we could have our private engagement with minimal interruption and this alone earned Ankole the 5th star.

The cocktails at Ankole stood on business ๐๐พ, especially the Strawberry daiquiri! Goodness! If only we had more time and larger stomach space, we would have sampled more drinks, but we had to create space for the meals. My friend and I both enjoyed our meals, especially the West African chicken jollof rice. The portions were filling, the meals were well prepared and the presentation was top-notch.

Ankole Grill Kitisuru! Whatever it is that you've been doing, keep it up! I was beyond satisfied with everything from my entrance to my departure. I HIGHLY recommend Ankole Grill and I'll be going back with my loved ones so they too can have a...
ย ย ย Read moreAnkole Grill Kitisuru - we ordered from them on Friday and our order took 2.5 hours to get to us. After several phone calls where we were told we had received it and hung up on, they finally spoke to their rider (who had been to our house multiple times in the past to deliver food) and he realised that he delivered the food to a house on Thigiri Ridge Road, and not Thigiri Road. He then went and collected the food and brought it to us 2.5 hours after order. It was cold and the bags were wet having been rained on. The rider blamed me for the mistake as he said our gate number started with a 0 (0100 instead of 100). I then called and was put through to the manager, Pauline, who apologised and said they would comp the meal. As a frequent customer of theirs I was happy to hear this and said to her that she could simply give us a credit as we would use it at Ankole Grill.
The following day a different manager called and said they would not be able to offer us that full amount but that the F&B manager would be contacting us on Monday regarding the issue. On Tuesday, having heard nothing, I contacted them and they said the F&B manager would contact us soon. The F&B Manager, Agnes, has just contacted me and rescinded the offer (in fact says she was in the room when I initially spoke to Pauline and that no such offer had been made. When I pressed her on the fact that I was the one who said I would take a credit rather than refund she admitted that yes, an offer had actually been made). In the end she said they would not honour that offer and that the absent 0 was the reason for the delivery error and it was our mistake. Despite the fact that the rider went to a different street completely to make the delivery.
Just thought I would share this for anyone interested. If anyone knows the owner it may be of interest to them to know that their staff are making offers, rescinding them and then accusing the...
ย ย ย Read moreBreathtaking location. The scenery at night is unmatched.
Decided to try this place because we tried the Kilimani one and everyone said we have to try this location.
Food: I had the MOROCCAN ROASTED EGGPLANT CHICKPEA STEW. I did not enjoy this food unfortunately. I think there was not enough flavor and that there were far way too many potatoes than the eggplants and chickpea, which were the main reasons I ordered this option.
My friends had KASIVAโS MUSHROOM BLACK PEPPER CHICKEN and they actually enjoyed it.
Drinks: I asked for a tequila based cocktail and the waiter recommended a gin one instead. I still had it. I had the HIBISCUS HENDRICKS and honestly did not like it as well. My friends after tasting it described it as โvegetable-yโ. We also tried a strawberry cocktail later and I thought it was okay - not bad and not great.
Service: The service was absolutely slow in my opinion. We waited for our foods for so long and just getting anything on the table was also such a hustle. We ordered sides of avocado and they came when we were almost done with our meals and this was after asking three different waiters. Getting the bill also took too long.
Ambience: Honestly the whole rating is from the ambience. It is such a gorgeous space. At night especially, the lights work so well, the nature is seriously breathtaking and the central place with seats is my favorite piece of this place. We just all sat around it having amazing conversations.
