I recently had the pleasure of visiting their new location, and I must say, it is truly a sight to behold. They have completely exceeded my expectations, surpassing their previous location and setting new standards for the variety of activities available in Nairobi. Without a doubt, this place has become one of the top destinations for spending your evenings in the city.
Upon entering, I was immediately impressed by the extensive range of activities they offer. From mini golf and karaoke to interactive baseball, tennis, cricket, and table tennis, they have something to suit every interest. I was also delighted to see that they have maintained their impressive collection of board games from before. The attention to detail in providing such a diverse array of entertainment options is truly commendable.
The impeccable service I received during my visit further enhanced my experience. The staff members were attentive, friendly, and went above and beyond to ensure that every guest was well taken care of. Moreover, there was an abundance of seating available, allowing for comfortable and enjoyable moments with friends and family.
One aspect that particularly impressed me was the introduction of their new app. This app streamlined the entire process, making it a breeze to book activities, place orders, and make payments seamlessly. The convenience it provided added an extra layer of enjoyment to my visit, as I could easily navigate through the various options and make arrangements effortlessly.
While the overall experience was exceptional, I did notice a slight drawback for individuals seeking vegetarian and Jain food options. The menu lacked a wide variety of choices in this regard. As a vegetarian myself, I believe it would greatly benefit the establishment to expand their selection of vegetarian and Jain dishes. This would ensure that all guests, regardless of their dietary preferences, can fully enjoy the culinary offerings and have a well-rounded experience.
In conclusion, their new location is a testament to their dedication to providing an outstanding entertainment venue. From the wide range of activities to the meticulous attention to detail and excellent service, it is evident that they have taken their game to a whole new level. While the absence of extensive vegetarian and Jain food options was a minor setback, it does not overshadow the overall positive experience. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for an unforgettable evening filled with fun and...
Read morePatronised with a group of friends on 4th July, Firstly the service was extremely SLOW. I have been here a few times before mostly on Friday evenings and the speed of service seems to be progressively getting worse. Secondly on the food, the experience was a total failure. We ordered halloumi fries and chicken wings for starters which were consistently served cold, the meat platters we ordered for the main meal were not only cold with the exception of the spicy fries, but had prawns on BOTH platters which I can only describe as rotten. The smell was so bad we repeatedly asked ourselves and the waitress how it not only made it out of the kitchen, but was carried all the way to our table with not one staff member thinking, what is that smell. The rectification of this problem is another complaint but long and short of it is we still paid full price with no apology for this failure. Thirdly we had booked and paid for a Karaoke session a day in advance for a 10.30 p.m slot only to be told on the day that; They did not have our booking and after producing the payment confirmation and whatsapp exchanges with them on the booking; They had a large booking from an event they were hosting take up all the karaoke slots for the day but they could push us to 11.30 p.m which moved to 11.50 p.m after which we opted to just leave. They did reduce our bill with the cost of the karaoke booking, again with no actual apology from anyone for this experience; As we were playing the board games waiting for our mythical Karaoke slot, the waitress cane round to take the board game advising that game boards closed at 10.30 p.m upon which we asked her where is the reciprocity of their incovenience and poor service. After a bit of back and forth, she begrudgingly agreed to let us continue with the games as we waited. Basically our analysis was she was reading from a their standard “script” not taking into account the customer experience that was before her in the moment.
Other than the ambience as the space really has a lot to offer, our experience really is a negative score. I have rated it as one for lack of a...
Read moreWe went to Bao Box for our daughter's birthday and had a blast! When we saw the time we couldn't believe we'd been there for 8 hours! Time totally whizzed by.
The service was great. My favourite meal on the menu was the veggie pizza. My kids had the sticky toffee pudding for dessert which was yum.
Overall the food was ok. The dishes we enjoyed were smashing. Some items were a complete miss for us, but the food we did enjoy more than made up for the misses. We also had the party platter which was perfect for our family because there was something for everyone.
What I enjoyed most about Bao Box was how relaxed I was throughout the entire outing. Usually when we go out I'm frazzled with all the organizing, and trying to keep everyone happy- at Bao Box, hubby and I sat down while the kids jumped from one activity to another- they played the entire time we were there- except for when they came over for a nibble. The kids went off to mini golf and table tennis while my husband and I chilled over a game of Monopoly (I won! 😁) We all had a go at Karaoke (it's so much harder than it looks!)
Overall it was the perfect place to celebrate our daughter's birthday.
The downsides: We weren't too jazzed that the games' centre (mini golf, table tennis etc) only opened at 4pm. We arrived just after 1pm, however the board games kept the kids occupied till 4pm. For planning purposes it would've been good for us to know that the games' level only opened later.
Also, we'd ask Bao Box to please have more child friendly music play. Some of the lyrics had some vile language- of course our kids noticed and mentioned the foul words in the music a number of times. I do hope this could be looked into because, as a family, this could easily become one of our favourite hangout spots.
Overall Bao Box is definitely worth a look see for groups of friends, families (we loved it), and of course it's splendid...
