Hit and miss on food. And rather imposing service. The interior and table setting are lovely, creating a nice ambience. The pumpkin soup was nice, Greek salad rather average. The pizzas were a disappointment however. Margherita came without basil and looked rather sad. Needless to say it tasted like a cheap cheese toastie you would make in a microwave when you are hungry and in a hurry. When we raised it with the staff they were very defensive about it and patronisingly pointed out it is not summer yet and therefore there is no fresh basil. Really strange excuse as there is plenty of basil in any supermarket in Latvia. If they insist on seasonal produce they must remove margherita from the menu as this pizza really just had three key ingredients hence if you can’t do basil you can’t make a margherita. Overall the service was a bit imposing in my view. The staff couldn’t take constructive feedback about the food yet made jokes at us and expected us to get very involved in conversation. And we just wanted to enjoy family dinner in peace. Drinks were good. They make a decent Aperol Spritz.

We arrived at 20:58, as Maps had listed 22:00 as the closing time. It turned out that the kitchen closed at 21:00. We were crestfallen and hungry, and I guess the waiter took pity on us, as he added that he could serve us lasagna. We jumped on that option and didn't regret it for a second. The lasagna was hearty without being soggy and was served with bread and a choice of hot sauces. The atmosphere is cozy, with fairy lights on the closed off veranda and guitar ballads from slightly faulty speakers. There is a well lit playground that was very visible from the veranda. We left with full bellies and an appreciation for the friendly staff.

Amazing place with amazing stuff. We went on a really long bike trip and it was our first meal after 8 hours - when we arrived, it turned out that they’re already closed but the manager obviously saw that we’re extremely exhausted and they’ve decided that they’ll prepare us something from what left in the kitchen. We ate amazing lasagnas at the sunset on white dunes! We’re super grateful for the hospitality and we totally recommend this place. I need to apologise for quality of the picture but I was too excited to take a decent one 😅 thank you again!
