Ohannes Batroun is an authentic Western Armenian restaurant located in the heart of the Old Souk. We went for dinner at and the entire restaurant was empty besides us - it felt like a private dinner for us. I'm Armenian so I'm typically highly critical of Armenian restaurants but Ohannes met my standards.
We tried the delicious classical Armenian dishes including Manti and Beyti Kebabs - and both blew away our expectations with the taste! We also had the Baba Ganouj and the Beurek w/ Basterma - both are elevated and fresh. The portions are small and the prices are higher than typical restaurants in Lebanon - we paid about $11 for each of the main dishes and $6 for the smaller appetizers. Comparatively, this is a finer dining experience and should be reviewed as one.
Service was on-point and the owner/manager came by to say hello - which was a very nice touch to the overall experience. Atmosphere was unique, perfect for a date night.
If you've never experienced Armenian cuisine and you're looking for a finer romantic dinner in Batroun, I'd highly...
