Absolutely unacceptable experience – will never order from this restaurant again.
We placed an order via Toters, and after the restaurant didn’t answer Toters’ calls, we tried calling ourselves several times. Eventually, they picked up and asked us to send the order again through Toters.
Once we did, the Toters driver reached the restaurant only to find the order wasn’t even ready. He had to wait an hour and a half to pick it up. Our family ended up having lunch at 4 PM, after countless follow-up calls from our side with no clear response.
The most infuriating part? After the first call, the branch manager just disappeared – apparently “too busy” to speak to us – and left the receptionist to deal with everything. If the restaurant was overloaded and couldn’t handle the order, they should’ve simply said so when we first called. Instead, they accepted the order, didn’t prepare it on time, ignored calls, and left both us and the delivery driver hanging.
This kind of service is not just disorganized – it’s disrespectful. We won’t be ordering again, and we’ll make sure others know what kind of chaos they might be...
Read moreHard to find decent Chinese in Beirut for some years now, so went on a date to try Chop Suey. The location is in a cool old building that has been renovated & little details like the red LED lights, painting the wall on the ground level were a nice touch & the acoustic panels high in the ceiling to reduce the reverbation of conversations from other tables. Sat on a table near a balcony was not ideal as one of the owners or managers kept calling waiters to meet him out there, opening the door behind the chair I was sitting at close to 10 times in 2 hours. Service was took a little few rounds of waving to make our order that can only be made on a digital menu, there are no print-outs almost felt like we were going to order for home delivery. Food wise is not exactly Chinese but more Asian-fusion with some Americanized Chinese dishes like Dynamite Shrimp, Lemon/Orange chicken as well as Thai Tom Yum soup & shrimp on toast. On a global scale would give it a 5/10 but for Lebanon's limited Asian cusine choices will give it a 7/10. Will eventually come back...
