MESA, la Maison de la Transition — Restaurant in Esch-sur-Alzette

Nice and super cheap vegetarian lunch place & cafe in Esch. They also run a variety of events largely focused on culture like concerts by local artists and ecological-related issues, e.g. second-hand markets, guest speakers. Usually the events are in French, sometimes also in English. Good place to grab a coffee and piece of cake in the afternoon, as it's probably the most comfortable cafe in Esch to work for an hour or two in the afternoon or meet up with someone.

Obviously not much is going on now, it's just open for takeaway and a small local / unpackaged food section (mini-market), but hopefully these restrictions will...

Delicious food and amazingly kind staff! I came 45 minutes before the kitchen opened and was more than willing to wait, but they opened the kitchen just for me. I can say it would have been worth the 45 minutes even if they didn't make it for me early, the food is amazing! Would highly recommend for vegetarians, vegans, and omnivores alike. Side note, all of this plus my espresso at the end of the meal...

The food is so delicious, home-made, healthy and energising that I come at least once a week. It's also very reasonably priced and family friendly. Our 2 kids (18 months and 3.5 years old) keep themselves busy in the kids corner full of toys and puzzles while we parents get to relax...
