Cômo in Esch is the kind of place that leaves you with a smile on your face. I’d happily give it a solid 4 out of 5 stars.

I went with the lasagna, and it didn’t disappoint. It was one of those feel-good dishes—rich, cheesy, and packed with flavor. While it may not have been the most life-changing lasagna I’ve ever had, it was definitely a solid, tasty dish that hit the spot.

What really made the experience memorable, though, was the atmosphere. The people working there were incredibly friendly and quite talkative. It felt like chatting with old friends rather than just being served a meal. Their energy was infectious, making the whole experience even more enjoyable. You can tell they really care about making you feel welcome.

Lors de notre brève conversation avec le chef à table, le "Sono stanco" je suis fatigué de Renato Favaro sonnait plutôt comme un "j'en ai assez".

C'est malheureusement ainsi que s'est déroulé notre déjeuner. Le service était un peu lent. Nous avons pris un prosecco en apéritif et un chardonnay piémontais de Langhe pour le repas, qui était très bon. En entrée, nous avons partagé à trois une plancha de charcuterie italienne (mortadelle, jambon cru, saucisse, échine de porc et lard). Tout était d'excellente qualité. Les plats principaux étaient du Saint-Pierre, des gnocchis et du foie de veau. Pour tous les plats, il y avait des points négatifs, les gnocchis n'avaient pas de goût, le foie était encore partiellement parcouru de nerfs et le saint-pierre était trop cuit et donc dur et sec. Pour le dessert, nous avons pris le tiramisu, qui était parfait, et les fraises de Garigette, qui étaient à notre avis trop grandes pour Garigette. C'était la première fois que nous retournions au Cômo depuis la pandémie, nous y réfléchirons à deux fois avant d'y retourner. Peut-être que d'ici là, Monsieur Favaro sera trop fatigué pour continuer. Quarante ans au service des clients, ça doit faire mal.

So kam unser Mittagessen leider auch herüber. Der Service war etwas schleppend. Wir hatten als Aperitif einen Prosecco und zum Essen einen Piemonteser Chardonnay von Langhe der sehr gut war. Als Vorspeise teilten wir uns zu drei eine Plancha mit italienischen Aufschnittprodukten (Mortadella, roher Schinken, Wurst, Schweinenacken und Speck). Alles war von ausgezeichneter Qualität. Die Hauptspeisen waren Petersfisch, Gnocchi und Kalbsleber. An allen Gerichten gab es Minuspunkte, die Gnocchi waren ohne Geschmack, die Leber war teilweise noch von Nerven durchzogen und der Petersfisch war übergart und dadurch zäh und trocken. Zur Nachspeise nahmen wir das Tiramisu an dem es nichts auszusetzen gab und Garigettes Erdbeeren die unserern Meinung nach für Garigettes aber zu überdimensioniert waren. Es war das erste Mal seit der Pandemie, dass wir wieder im Comó waren, wir werden es uns überlegen, ob wir nochmals hingehen. Vielleicht ist Herr Favaro bis dahin ja auch zu müde, um nich weiterzumachen. 40 Jahre im Dienst der Kunden fordern sicher...

Really nice place! We came early on a Friday evening, without reservation, and we were greeted very friendly. All the staff members were very nice and made sure we were having a good time. The fettuccine al ragu were absolutely delicious, with an authentic Italian flavor. Very original interpretation of the tiramisu. They serve it in a big jar, with a scoop of coffee ice cream and pour some hot espresso on the biscuit. First time I see this in the 1000+ tiramisus I have tried around the world, but really tasty! Great wine selection, too! Prices are standard for Luxembourg.
